What is Basic Training Course (BTC)?
The basic training course will guide you as you take a step towards becoming a successful
agent of Pru Life U.K.
The BTC Part One will provide you with:

a. the value and benefits of life insurance
b. Pru Life UK products and services
c. the different life stages and areas of financial planning
d. Market Conduct Guidelines
e. requirements of the business
BTC is a combination of online and classroom training.
 At your own convenient time, register to the Pru Academy Learning Management
System (LMS) using your desktop, tablets, or smart phones (with wide screen), and
with a strong internet connection.
 Start your training and complete the requirements anytime, anywhere at your own
pace.
 The online course will take approximately four (4) hours if done in one sitting. You
may stop and continue anytime.
 Print your Certificate of Completion.
 Get the available classroom training schedules from your recruiter or manager.
 Attend the 1 Day Classroom training of BTC Part One
Complete your Basic Training Course by finishing each stage below:

System Requirements and Specifications
 HARDWARE/SOFTWARE:
Any computer running Internet Explorer 7.0 or above, as well as Firefox, Safari 2.0 or above,
and Google Chrome.
 OPERATING SYSTEM PLATFORMS:
Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, Solaris 7 or above, Red
Hat Linux, SUSE Linux with minimum 128 MB memory.
STEP 1:
Take note of the mock BTC OR picture sent to you, for uploading later.

Access the Pru Academy website to start your career with Pru Life U.K.

STEP 3:
Self-register and create your own training account.
Click “Register”
STEP 4: Fill-out the registration form. All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are
required.
Prepare and input your:

1. Valid ID number
2. Official receipt
number for the online
training fee.
Click “Continue” to proceed.

STEP 5:
Read and “Accept” the User Agreement Terms and Conditions.
Carefully read
the terms and
conditions,
check the box
and click
“Accept”
You will now be directed to
the Pru Academy Home Page

STEP 6:
Update your profile page.

STEP 7:
Start your online training.
Click “My
Learning” to
access the online
BTC modules
Under “My
Learning”, choose
“Browse Catalogs”
to see all modules:
Begin with
“Module 1”
You will now be directed to catalogs inside Module 1.
Enroll to Module 1 – BTC Part One then pass the corresponding
Module 1 – Practice Exam.
Click the
thumbnail for:
Module 1 – BTC
Part One
After clicking the thumbnail, a pop-up window will ask you to enroll to
Module 1 – BTC Part One
Click “Enroll” to
request access to
Module 1.
You will be asked to confirm your enrollment to
Module 1 – BTC Part One
Click “Confirm
Enrollment”
After successful enrollment to Module 1 – BTC Part One,
you will now be prompted to Launch the Module
Click “Launch” to
access the Module
A pop-up window will now play the Module 1 - BTC Part One.
Ensure to complete Module 1.

watch and
learn.
The Online Module Menu:

STEP 8:
Take and pass the corresponding exam.
Click
“Module 1 – Practice
Exam” thumbnail
After clicking the thumbnail, a pop-up window will ask you to enroll to
Module 1 – Practice Exam
Click “Enroll” to
request access to
the Practice Exam.
You will be asked to confirm your enrollment to
Module 1 – Practice Exam
Click “Confirm
Enrollment”
After successful enrollment to Module 1 – Practice Exam,
you will now be prompted to Launch the Module
Click “Launch” to
access the Module
A brief description of the exam will be displayed:
• Number of
questions
• Maximum time
allowed
• Number of attempts
permitted
• Number of attempts
remaining
• Required passing
score
Click “Start the Exam”

Select the correct answer then click “Submit response”
The required passing

rate and score per
Module are as follows:
• Module 1 Practice
Exam - 70% or 3/5
correct answers.
• Module 2 Practice
Exam - 70% or 7/10
• Module 2 Prospect
30 - 100% or 30/30
• Module 3.1 Practice
Exam – 70% or 7/10
• Module 3.2 Practice
Exam – 70% or 7/10
After you are done with the exam, a pop-up window will appear
automatically with the results.
Exam results
If you passed the
exam, close the
exam window
then proceed to
the next module
If you failed the

exam, you need
to retake the
exam until the
required passing
score is achieved
STEP 9:
Continue your online training
Click “My
Learning” to
access the online
BTC modules
Under “My
Learning”, choose
“Browse Catalogs”
to see all modules:
Click
“Module 2”
STEP 10:
Repeat Steps 7 and 8 until you finish the online modules and passed all
the exams
Follow the sequence below for Module 2:
Module 2 Module 2 Catalogs
Note that you may not be able to:

• launch the Practice Exam if you have not completed Module 2 – Life Stages and Products
• launch the Prospect 30 if you have not passed the Module 2 – Practice Exam
• proceed to the next modules if all catalogs under Module 2 are not completed and/or passed
STEP 10:
Repeat Steps 7 and 8 until you finish the online modules and passed all
the exams
Follow the sequence below for Module 3:
Module 3.2 Module 3.2 Catalogs
Note that you may not be able to:

• launch the Practice Exam if you have not completed Module 3 – Riders, SAF, and FATCA
• proceed to the next modules if all catalogs under Module 3.1 are not completed and/or passed
STEP 11:
Check your training status to confirm all modules are completed.
Click “My
Learning” then
click “Learning”
to view your
training status
Check the
Status and
ensure that all
modules are
tagged as
“Completed”
STEP 12:
Upload the photo or copy of your BTC fee official receipt (OR) and Valid ID.
Click “My Learning”

then click “My Files”
to upload the
required photos
Please upload the

mock BTC OR sent
by your manager.
Please upload your

valid ID.
You will be directed to the “My Files” page where you can upload the
photo or copy of your BTC Fee official receipt (OR) and Valid ID.
Click “Choose File”

to upload your BTC
OR fee from your
desktop, tablets or
smart phones.
On the description
box, type the file
name: (e.g. “Name.BTC
Fee OR” “Name.Valid ID”)
At this point, you have now completed the following:
 Profile page  Module 3.1

 Module 1 BTC Part One  Module 3.1 Practice Exam
 Module 1 Practice Exam  Module 3.2
 Module 2  Module 3.2 Practice Exam
 Module 2 Practice Exam  BTC Fee OR upload
 Valid ID upload
 Prospect 30
You may now generate and print your online training certificate!
