Principal Assistant Principal Counselor
I am honored to write this letter of recommendation for Esther Mead. I currently serve as the Assistant
Principal at Washington Woods Elementary School. In my role, I hire and supervise all assistants, so
my knowledge of Esther’s work is based on observing her as an Instructional Assistant and throughout
her student teaching placement.
I believe there are many positive attributes that Esther brings to the table as a prospective teacher
candidate. Two that I value tremendously that Esther embodies, are being kind and being a
hard-worker.
Esther may be one of the kindest people I have ever had the opportunity to work with. I cannot think of
one situation where she wasn’t willing to jump in and help, lend her talents and time, or just encourage
others from the sideline. Esther always has your back. She wants others to do well and however she
can assist, she is always willing to do so.
Esther also has an amazing work ethic. When Esther sets her mind to something, she knocks it out of
the park each time. For example, Esther was hired to work alongside our 3rd grade team as our
classroom numbers began to expand during the school year. WWES also began to pilot Lexia school
wide. Esther took over the Lexia pilot for 3rd grade. She worked with our reading specialist and the
Lexia rep to learn all that there was to learn about Lexia and began working with students to improve
their use of the program and then to become better readers. When Esther sees someone needs help,
she jumps in instantly. And if she doesn’t know how to help, she watches and learns.
On a larger scale, I have also known Esther as she has been working through her teacher education
program. I watched Esther as she came to realize that she was meant to be a teacher and watched
her dig into her coursework, while also working as an Instructional Assistant or substitute teacher. This
wasn’t easy. Esther had to search for ways to continue to hold down a job, have income, and learn all
she could so that she could be an amazing educator. And I believe she has done just that.
Esther will be an amazing asset to your building. She will bring positivity and a growth mindset that will
radiate from her body. You will not be disappointed with this hire! If I can provide any additional
information for you, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. My email is parisik@wws.k12.in.us.
Sincerely,
Kristin Parisi
