    Tips for board exam September 2019

    1. Biochem
    Memorize all the pathways and the enzymes used in those pathways (not just
    the major enzymes): mga glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, glycogen, kreb, urea,
    heme, fatty acid, ketones, how sugars are metabolized(fructose, galactose).
    Marami rin mga vitamins and cofactors. Pretty much memorize lang
    kailangan dito.

    2. Anatomy
    mga 50+ questions came from BRS anatomy so might as well read that. Mga
    histo questions, mahirap talaga questions so hindi maaaral yun. Read tons of
    samplexes like the 600 questions in topnotch and mga brs anatomy and all
    the samplex you can read, kasi they cant really ask new questions here. Uulit
    talaga sila ng questions.

    3. legmed
    Hindi na siya word for word na pareho sa apmc 600 questions. Might as well
    read that parin kasi ibang questions based from that pero walang exact
    questions. Just read that 600 questions once para may basis ka for answering
    sa exam, then read the topnotch handout: may mga lumabas na poisons and
    gun related questions

    4. physio
    samplex din ang physio mga 70-80 questions. Mostly from BRS pero meron
    din yata pretest? Not sure. Maganda na handout ng topnotch so just read the
    topnotch handout and answer all the BRS physio questions.

    pearls ng physio

    5. patho
    may mga kinuha sa robbins adolescent (yun question and answer na mga
    1500 questions-ish) like 10 questions lang naman. (is it worth it to read 1500
    questions for 10? Up to you kung maalala mo) maganda kasi mga explanation
    niya so good study material siya.

    notes in the handout) pwede rin naman topnotch handout…..

    6. microbio
    Case based yun exam so may scenario then 3 questions after. Isa lang
    parasite, isa lang fungus. Lahat bacteria and virus na. If you mastered sketchy
    micro pwede na yun.
    Suggested reading: Sketchy micro (watch the videos and print the handout
    same as pathoma watch while taking notes) you have to watch them a few
    times to really remember.

    7. pharma
    Mahirap ang pharma. Know all the MOA, side effects, drug of choice. May
    mga anes drugs din. May mga fertility and gonad drugs din. Make sure you
    answer samplexes na rin.

    daw?

    8. Surg
    100% Schwartz Absite. Walang kwenta magaral….. read through topnotch
    handout nalang din in case hindi samplex

    9. IM
    General exam, not samplex. Just study in general. Fair exam
    Suggested reading: either topnotch or UST pwede nay un

    10. Pedia
    General exam, not samplex. Just study in general. Fair exam. Maraming mga
    behavioral and baby stuff
    Suggested reading: either topnotch or UST pwede nay un

    11. OB
    Medyo basic yun questions compared to UST. Walang lumabas sa mga labor
    related cases, maraming mga oral contraception. Pretty fair exam naman
    Suggested reading: either topnotch or UST pwede nay un (Read on oral
    contraception and fertility drugs)

    12. Prevmed
    Sabi nila read pretest, read CDC, read topnotch handouts, read ust handouts.
    Walang lumabas sa kahit ano dun. May mga basic lang na clin epi pero
    majority of questions practical questions na hindi mo maaaral anywhere.
    May mga konting dengue stuff. Meron din medyo marami mga antimicrobial
    stewardship questions. No calculations in our exam.

    General tips:
    1. After each exam, it is better if you discuss some of the difficult questions
    with your friends kasi they have some same topics that pops out in different
    exams. Or look them up online to read on them kasi may mga diseases na
    lumalabas every exam. Look up lahat ng mga hindi mo alam sa exam sa first
    day kasi pwede lumabas sa second day. They have preferences for topics

    2. Marami rin mga questions na may I. dasdada II. fadasasd III. Dsadasdsasa
    tapos which is true tapos choices mo A. I and II B. I II and III C. II and III D. III
    only. Mga ganun so medyo mahirap

    3. marami naman mga out of this world questions na hindi mo mababasa sa


    books or hindi naturo ever. Just move on and bigay mo na sa kanila yun.

    4. Ang gumawa ng Anatomy and surgery sa amin is the examiner “Almoro”,


    so siya yun kailangan niyo magsamplex ng todo.

    5. important magsamplex! Rationalize the answers in samplexes and listen to


    the rumors kung anong mga samplex lalabas kasi minsan totoo rin yun.
