The Basic Technician Certificate in Information and Communication Technology (I.T.) aims at preparing a person who is able to perform basic office application operations, help desk support and maintenance of computers, installation of computer hardware and software, setting up simple computer netwroks, create static websites and provide internet services.
Objectives: To prepare a person who is able to 1.) Use computer operations and packages to perform simple office works; 2.) Provide internet services and perform computer installations and configurations; 3.) Maintain and repair computer hardware, software and peripherals; 4.) Assist in performing computer networking; and 5.) Apply computer skills for communications, customer care and enterpreneurship activities.
Admission Requirements: The minimum entry requirements to the Basic Technician Certificate in ICT (I.T.) are: * Possession of at least four (4) passes including passes in Basic Mathematics and English Language in the Certificate of Secondary School Education Examination(CSEE) OR * Possession on the National Vocational Award (NVA) Level II (Trade Test Grade II) in a ICT related fields from a recognized institution plus possession of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE).
