I Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow
Crazy Mom’s Fashion
1. Int the mid-80’s few manufacturers made clothes for women over
thirty. She was having very little money ,no connections in fashion
world and her husband was also not supporting telling that she is crazy.
This were the difficulties faced by Jane when stating her business.
2. Jane didn’t manage to buy any clothes because in mid-80’s there
were few manufactures who made clothes for women over thirty. The
special trait was as she was an ambitious women she decided to strat
up her own business.
3. In order to start business Jane designed her first collection of twenty
clothing items, bought suitable material and sewing machines, and
hired experienced tailors. And soon her balcony turns into her
workshop.
4. Jane sew her first collection in her balcony. She decided to call her
collection as “Crazy Mom” from as her called her idea was crazy and
she was also a mom of four children.
5. Jane had to hire more people and find a bigger place for the
workshop. The next step was opening her own shop at the central train
station in Manchester. The fact that proves that “Crazy Mom” is a
successful company was that she was ambitious and support from
family. As the company was growing his husband also left his job as an
engineer and became head of the company. Their four children also
work in the company.
II Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow
Students and Teachers
1. The connection between the students and the teachers is very
important because it’s very hard for a student to succeed in learning a
subject if he or she doesn’t like the person who teaches it. To make
sure that students are going to like the teacher this made the school
principle try a different approach in finding new teachers.
2. First the principal and second is the students who interviews
potentials teachers. According to the students the purpose of the
double interview is that student want to know whether the candidate
answer their criteria, and the administration has its own requirement
And the by Discussing the result of each interview together and decide
who can be accepted.
3. Students says that they are very greatful for their school allows them
to make important decisions and influence their school life.
4. Principle and students cooperate when choosing the right teacher for
their school by taking the two interviews. First taken by the principal
and other is taken by the students committee.
5. The principle wants students to choose their own teacher as per their
understanding and take a responsibility and also there will be fewer
conflict. And if they approve of a teacher, they can’t complain tha hisor
her requirements are unfair.
III Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow
1. A case is a description of a situation involving problems to be solved.
The case may not have a complete information about the problems as a
reader wishes. And the amount required of detail required would make
the case too long to read and too detailed to analyze. These are the two
drawbacks.
2. If a manager is bombarded with the information and he must find
out what is relevant and irrelevant for him. So case also provide an
opportunity to learn to separate the wheat and the chaff.
3. The two types of case studies are: 1)Structured case
2)Unstructured case
Structured Case is that the discussion can get off to quick start.
Unstructured Case is that the facts are given but there are no leading
question to suggest the major issues involved in the case.
4. Advantage of the case study is it involves analysis of the case to
identify problems involved, identifying alternatives for the solution of
the problems, evaluation of these alternatives and to arrive at a
decision to solve the problems; case discussion in group to put one’s
viewpoints and appreciate others; and written analysis to focus more
sharply on what has been discussed.

IV Read the following passage and answer the questions that follow
1. Synonyms of creativity is ‘discover’, ‘invention’, ‘extending the
border’, etc. Examples of creativity in decision making may be creation
of new product, creation of new method, creation of new market, and
so on.
2. Creativity means a talent for unique combination or unusual
association of ideas. From a managerial perspective, creativity is the
conceiving of original and unique alternatives to the solution of existing
problems. Creativity is synthesis.
3. From decision making point of view, creativity can be thought of in
terms of generating ideas which are unique to the solution of the
problem under consideration.
4. Creativity is required specially for solving problems which are non-
repetitive and unique. Such problems cannot be solved by known
methods and past experience is not enough. A fresh approach, a new
twist, a novel arrangement of recognized parts, or the addition of a
different materials or system is often necessary to find an acceptable
solution.
