Detailed Lesson Plan in Science 7

Content Standards:

The learners demonstrate an understanding of:

- Organisms interacting with each other and with their environment to survive.

Performance Standards:

The learners shall be able to:

- Conduct a collaborative action to preserve the ecosystem in the locality.

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
 Identify and describe the different ecological relationship existing in an
ecosystem. (S7LT-IIh-10)
 Give examples of different ecological relationship existing in an ecosystem.
 Describe and appreciate how organisms affect each other.

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

3.1 Daily Routine
3.1.1 Opening Prayer

pieces of papers and put it on a trash can.
After aligning and picking up that
trash you may take your seat.

3.1.3 Checking of Attendance

for today? The absentees for today are…
3.1.4 Recall/ Review
I have here a box, this box can be
called “Flash Box”. Inside the box, there are
metacards of different colors. Written on the
metacards are questions about our lesson
yesterday.
You will pass the box to your
seatmate as I play the music. When the
music stops the one who is holding the box
will read and answer the question.
There are three questions to be
answered.
Is that clear?
Yes ma’am
Ok let’s start.

3.2 Lesson Proper

3.2.1 Motivation
I have here 3 pictures of organisms
a flower, a butterfly and a bird. Written at the
back of the pictures are different situations
that can be observed in our environment.
One representative from each group
will get one picture and choose members of
the group will act the situation.
Is that clear?
Yes ma’am
Let’s start it now. The situations are:
- A mosquito biting a sleeping person.
- Chicken, duck and bird catching a
worm for food.
- Snake catching chicken for food.
These are some of the situations that
are usually observed in our
environment so let us find out more
of the different ecological
relationships existing in the
ecosystem.
3.2.2 Activity

4. Mutualism- describes an interaction
GROUP FLORA
that benefits both species.

1. Orchids and a tree

2. The tree is known as the host
being the home of the orchid but
not benefited nor harmed. The
orchid is the commensal which is
benefited by the tree.
3. The orchids are benefited and the
tree is not harmed or affected.
4. Commensalism- is a relationship
GROUP FAUNA in which one organism benefits
from another organism that is not
affected.

Group Fauna
1. Tapeworm and human intestine
2. The tapeworm gets its food from
the intestine of human. The
human is affected because of the
harmed cause by the tapeworm.
3. The tapeworm is benefited and
the human will be affected
4. Parasitism- It is relationship
between two species of plants or
GROUP ANIMALIA animals in which one benefits at
the expense of the other,
sometimes without killing the
host organism.

1. Cat and Mouse

2. The cat will catch the mouse and
eat
3. The cat is benefited and the
mouse is harmed
4. Predation- It includes any
interaction between two species in
which one species benefits by

I have here different pictures of the
examples of ecological relationship.
You need to identify what kind of
ecological relationship it is.
You will write your answers on the
illustration board that I had given to you. I
will show you the pictures of different
ecological relationship in the ecosystem.
