In line with the Society of Jesus’ Universal Apostolic Preference on Caring for Our Common Home, the Senior
High School Department of Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu will be launching its environmental program
entitled “ZERO Hour”. One of the events is a science expo where invited STEM professionals will feature their
own inventions/innovations. With the theme, “MEASURES for ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY”,
the goal of the expo is to educate and encourage the general public to use alternatives and/or create initiatives
that will better manage waste in the community. Promotion of proper waste disposal for public health and
safety, environmental preservation, and responsible management of waste products are the main foci of the
event.

In this regard, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu cordially invites your group of (Please choose one.):

a. structural engineers and developers who are responsible for the production and quality control of
devices and mechanical artifacts

b. healthcare scientists who ensure proper disposal of medical waste and biochemical by-products for
public safety

c. toxicologists and environmentalists who are in charge of waste management, air quality control, and
water treatment

to be one of our presenters for the event. We enjoin your team composed of 4 members to create/ innovate a
prototype, model, or an actual device that employs proper measurement and scaling to address the
aforementioned environmental concerns of the community depending on the focus of your specialization.
Furthermore, we would like you to showcase your innovation and communicate its features to the general
public through a poster and device presentation to the students of Sacred heart School-Ateneo de Cebu,
members of adopted school communities, and invited officials of concerned government agencies (DOST,
DENR, City waste management council). We will be sending you the details of the presentation as soon as we
receive your confirmation.

We would like to inform you that we will be choosing the best innovation which will be duly acknowledged and
featured in our school paper and website. Please see attached criteria for grading.
