E-learning: better than traditional education?

E-learning is a new way of being educated through the internet, which is one of

the most important aspects of our lives, and it has become extremely popular in

these pandemic days. But, why is it that many people love it and other many hate it?

It is widely argued that e-learning has both strong advantages and disadvantages.

One very convincing point in favour of e-learning is that there is no need to move

from our homes or to use means of transport and so we can have more time to do

other activities while being more environmental friendly. In addition, using more

dynamic platforms, for instance Classroom, Google Meet, Zoom, videos on YouTube,

etc. may result more attractive to the students than buying a physical book.

However, opponents believe that money tends to be a double-edged sword when

it comes to e-learning. It is essential to pay for a good internet connection that

sometimes many people can’t afford, particularly in houses where the internet has no

reach. And the greatest disadvantage of this issue is that there is no human

interaction, which is another important aspect that is slightly more crucial for us who

are social beings.

To sum up, it is clear that e-learning is an extremely practical way to learn for the

time being but I am inclined to believe that in most circumstances it is impossible to

live without interacting with each other and no matter how many tools there are, it will

never be the same as to a face-to-face communication.
