A. Read the following instances about the word ‘professional’. Explain what the
word “professional” means in each case (5 pts each).
1. One night, cellphones were stolen right there from your home while you were
asleep. There was no indication of forced entry, so you claimed that the
manner by which your cellphone was stolen was highly professional.
-The highly professional means in this case, is the thief stole my cellphone
clean and quiet for not disturbing me while I am sleeping,so he is a
professional thief he knows the technique in stealing.
2. Father tells floor tile setter whom he asked to work on a newly constructed
bathroom “Gusto ko yung gawang propesyonal, malinis at maganda.”
-The father talks about being professional in doing work. By saying those
words it reminds the tile setter that understanding and satisfying your
customer's needs are the cornerstones of a successful business.
3. She is highly professional in her ways. She deals with everyone including her
daughter – employee professionally.
-The professional mean in this case is she is doing her job by not mixing any
personal feelings while working .
-The word unprofessional in this case means that some people see the
teacher wrong doing by not doing some professional rules that teacher must
do it
-Professional mean in this case is they are specially trained and become
professional in their job and receiving income account
6. After his oath taking as a professional teacher, he was congratulated and was
told “now you are truly a professional.”
-The word professional implies that you are already expert and trained in
doing your job . You already pass the test for becoming a professional
teacher.
