SYNOPSIS

CENTER FOR WILD LIFE AND BIODIVERSITY

Research institute & Bio park

ATHULYA N K
INTRODUCTION

Man is an integral part of the natural ecosystem on our planet. Our fate is closely linked with
biodiversity, the huge variety of other animals and plants, and the places where they thrive. Thanks
to its diversity this ecosystem can provide us with food, fuel, medicine and other vital supplies and
services. Biodiversity, however, decreases at an accelerated rate as a result of human activities. This
weakens the ability of the ecosystem which we depend upon to resist recent developments such as
climate change.

Increasing biodiversity loss and rapid urbanization are two key ingredients of today’s global
development pattern. At no other point in world history has biodiversity been lost at such alarming
rates, and neither have cities grown as large, and as quickly. Biodiversity and ecosystem services are
the critical foundation upon which humankind ultimately depends in order to attain a better quality
of life. In a world where conservation budgets are insufficient given the number of species
threatened with extinction, identifying conservation priorities is crucial. And also some developments
is needed to create awareness amoung the peoples. There are some institutions are organizations to
conserve and recreate the wild life and biodiversity.CWS india,Indian council for for forestry research
and education etc are some of the organizations india providing research platforms and degrees. In
kerala there is no such institute to create such awareness. So iam planning a wildlife and biodiversity
research institute and public awareness centre.

AIM

To propose a research institute and interpretation centre to create awareness about wildlife and
biodiversity.

OBJECTIVES

The institution would seek to acieve the aim through the establishment and implementation of
sound management plans and the dissemination of biodiversity information for promoting public
awareness on a significance biodiversity.

 To provide for research and advancement and creating awareness in the field of Biodiversity.
 To explore more in the field of wildlife through different master degree and phd courses.
 To create awareness about importance of wildlife and biodiversity among people.
 The enhancement of the spatial and resource information base for
planning, implementation, and monitoring of forest and biodiversity management

SCOPE

In a world where conservation budgets are insufficient given the number of species threatened with
extinction, identifying conservation priorities is crucial. And also some developments is needed to
create awareness among the peoples. The research institute will provide different platforms to
explore more about biodiversity system. In kerala there is no such institutes giving awareness about
the entire wildlife and biodiversity . The generation of scientific knowledge is the foundation for
developing effective conservation interventions.
VISION

The vision of the institute to become an educational element in itself, where the building becomes a
component of the biodiversity training curriculum. By re-using and reinterpretation of local
techniques and knowledge the building speaks about how human life and natural conditions can
harmonize with each other and the energy consumption of the building can be reduced by using
local materials and natural renewable resources.
