Eco-Bag is an eco-friendly bag made from recycled juice pouches and other
plastic-pouched food packaging which can contribute in minimization of waste
production by turning a trash that can pollute the environment into something useful.
This bag will be made out of plastic juice pouches which is known to lasts for several
years. Recycling these pouches into a bag may be used for grocery shopping, market,
school and other more depending on how and where it is used.

This project is worth the effort since the rapid increase of waste pollution is one
of the inevitable issues in our society and has become unstoppable and continued to
expand in a very alarming rate which led to various environmental threats and
concerns that may affect every human, animals, and all living organism.

Waste pollution is one of the major global threat of our planet that needs to be
solved in order for humans to have a sustainable environment and habitat for better
future. This project will encourage the people in minimizing waste specifically juice
pouches  and other plastic-pouched food packaging in both land and sea by recycling,
creating, and utilizing an eco-bag.

The things we know about this project are the following:

- Plastics are harmful to the environment

- We are slowly killing our planet because of our misbehavior and carelessness
- Recycling and using eco bag can contribute in lesser plastic waste pollution
- Lasts for many years
- Harmful effects of using a single use bags
- One way of promoting zero waste

The things we don’t know about this project are the following:

- Durability
- Longevity
- Total cost for manufacturing

Our approach to this project is to engage people of Dumaguete City in recycling

and reusing plastic juice pouches into a fashionable bag and convey them about the
environmental threats related to plastic waste pollution. The materials that will be use
in this eco bag project are some recycled juice pouches like funcham, zest-o, plus etc.,
sharp kitchen knife, scissors, sewing machine, thread, gross grain ribbon and a Velcro
tabs. In making an eco bag, the first thing to do is to collect and clean your juice
pouches. In cleaning the juice pouches, you need to use the sharp kitchen knife. Cut a
large slit on the bottom of the pouch and directly clean the inside with soap and let
them dry. Always remember to be careful in using a sharp kitchen knife. Once the
pouches are dry, you need to flatten it to get them ready for sewing.
The next thing to do is sewing the pouches together. This is the difficult part, In
sewing the pouches you need to get two of the pouches, slightly overlap the side of the
pouch and stitch them together and do this again with eleven more paired pouches to
have at least twelve sets of paired pouches, you can either use a zig zag stitch or a
straight stitch. After that, you will need to overlap the two sewed sets of the pouches
and stitch them together and do it again with the remaining five. Lastly, cut two
pouches to fit the bottom of the eco bag and stitch them.
Proceeding to the construction of the eco bag, the first thing to do is to sew the
sides of the pouches for it to look clean. Next, attach the sides of the pouches together
and sew them. And lastly, for the gross grain ribbon and Velcro tabs, attach first the
Velcro tabs in the center of the opening and stitch them and finally you will attach the
ribbon between the Velcro tabs and sew it. You will now have your recycled eco bag
