What is Vatarakta…?
Here both Vata and Blood get vitiated by
individual causes and manifested the disease so it is
called as वातरक्त, वातासक
ृ , वातशोणित .

As it affects the small joint mostly, it can also


called as खुड़वात ।

Due to Avrit of Vata blood get more vitiated and


causes disease called वातबलास ।

What is Gout…?
1. Gout is an inflammatory response to
Monosodium Urate crystal formed
secondary to hyper uricaemia.

2. The major clinical manifestations are acute


synovitis, chronic erosive and deforming
arthritis, tophi, nephrolithiasis and
instestinal nephratis.
Prevalence
Gout is seen in only 10% of patients of hyper
uricaemia.

The incidence of Gout varies in population


from 0.2 to 3.5 per 1000, with an overall
prevalence of 2 to 26 per 1000.

It is rare in children and premenopausal


females. The peak age of onset in male is
between 40-50 years.
