Sample Requirements
 The minimum amount of sample required to perform each test is listed on the test
selection table of the dust testing order form. If multiple tests are required then it is
necessary to send the minimum amount of sample required for each test.
 Samples are recommended to be at least 95% sub 200 mesh (75 microns).
o Samples can be tested up to 425 microns in size. However, if fines are detected
in the “as received” sample, the customer will be notified that sieving of the
sample is required and additional cost will be incurred.
 Samples containing a moisture content exceeding 5% will be dried before performing
the required tests as recommended by ASTM standard test methods, unless otherwise
specified by the customer.
o If the sample is not to be dried prior to testing, appropriate packing methods
should be employed to ensure the sample is not influenced by humidity changes
during transport to Fike.
 Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) must be provided for every sample.
 All unused portions of dust sample material will be disposed of or returned to
the customer 30 days after the completion of testing.
Ordering & Shipping Instructions

 Sales partner is to complete the order form on the front of this document by filling in all
the provided fields and checking the boxes for the desired tests.
 Sales partner faxes the order form to Fike Customer Service at 800-456-4162 or email
to orders@fike.com.
 Fike Customer Service will process the order and issue a Material Return Authorization
(MRA) Number to the sales partner.
 Package the sample for shipment labeling each sample the same name as on form.
o MSDS sheets must be attached to the outside of the shipping container.
o The MRA Number provided by Fike must be clearly marked on the outside of
the shipping container.
 Ship properly packaged sample using the following shipping label:
