Report on Guest Lectures 2017-18

1. Interdisciplinary Lecture
The Interdisciplinary Lecture of Dr. Vilas Padhye, Associate Professor and Head,
Department of Psychology, Government College, Kolhapur, was organised on the topic
‘Emerging Trends in the Subject of Psychology’ on 7 October 2017 at our College. The
object of this lecture was to develop the interest of the students in interdisciplinary studies in
general and subject of psychology in particular.

2. Special lecture on the Research skills in Social Sciences (Stages in Research)


For law students the research skills are important and to comply this requirement we
have hold the Special Lecture on ‘The Research skills in Social Sciences (Stages in
Research)’ of Dr. Shruti Tambe, Professor and Head, Department of Sociology, Savitribai
Phule Pune University, Pune M. S. was hold on 30 December 2017. This endeavour was
organised in collaboration with college Legal Aid Centre. In her lecture, Prof Tambe, had
elaborately discussed the stages in research considering the need of law students and legal
profession.

3. The Rajarshi Shahu Vyakhyanmala


The Rajarshi Shahu Vyakhanmala sponsored by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar
Marathwada University, Aurangabad was organized at our College on the occasion of birth
anniversary of Savitrimai Phule on 3 January 2018. The object of this Lecture Series was to
make the law students acquainted with the contribution of Chhatrapati Rajarshi Shahu
Maharaj in the field of the making of ‘Welfare Laws’ and building his State as ‘Welfare
State’. Accordingly the subject for the Lecture Series was decided as ‘Rajarshi Shahu
Maharaj: His Contribution in making the ‘Welfare Laws’ and ‘Welfare State’.
In this Lecture Series Honourable Dr. Janardan Waghmare, Former Vice Chancellor,
SRTMU, Nanded and Honourable Mr. Sanghraj Rupavate, Advocate, High Court of Bombay,
Bench at Mumbai had delivered the inaugural and valedictory lectures respectively. Both the
speakers had thrown light on the unknown contribution of Shahu Maharaj in the field of
welfare laws by narrating their some important examples.

4. University Namvistar Din Lecture


On 14 January, on the occasion of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada
University’s name expansion anniversary we had organized the special lecture of Mrs Rekha
Meshram, Assistant Professor of Marathi, Chatrapati Sahu College, Pathri Dt. Aurangabad on
the topic ‘Ramai: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkaranchi Prerana’. She had eloquently narrated the
supportive personality of Mrs Ramabai Ambedkar as a source of inspiration behind Dr.
Babasaheb Ambedkar.

5. The Constitutional Law Lecture


Our College had organized the Constitutional Law Lecture of Professor Dr. Vijay
Dixit on the topic ‘Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of State Policy’ on 27 March
2018. In his lecture he had focused on the comparative and Jurisprudential aspects of the
Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles with their importance and logic.
