1. What is the importance of knowing the distinctions and terminologies


covered in this course?
The importance of knowing of knowing the distinctions and terminologies
covered in this course is to help the students like me comprehend,
understand further ideas and be able to differentiate correctly the “jargons”
of this subject. The beginning of wisdom starts by definition of terms.
2. Look for an article in the newspaper or social issues in the social media
that tackles moral or ethical issue(s). Consider the following questions;

a. What makes this a matter that falls under morals or ethical issue?
Recreational smoking cannabis here on the Philippines

b. What is your own moral or ethical judgment on issue? Justify your


reasons or judgement?
For me smoking cannabis even it’s recreational is unethical here on
the Philippines it maybe moral for them because it may temporarily
make them happy and disappear problems but it violates the law
and without these law there would be chaos because smoking
cannabis can results to accidents and worse killing other human
being.

3. Do we need to follow standards or authority in determining moral or ethical


acts or behavior?
For me yes we need to follow standards or authority in determining moral
or ethical acts or behavior in order to have a harmony and a peaceful
society.
4. Identify five(5) student behavior in school (classroom) and at home
(boarding house) and discuss briefly whether the act is considered ethical
issues?
a. Cheating during exam. It is a ethical issues because it violates the
law in the school and it affects both the society and the cheating
students in a negative manner. The society is at an advantage
because the cheating student is at an unfair advantage relative to
the students who are not cheating.
b. Stealing money or things in school or at boarding House. It is a
ethical issue because it violates the rights of human being because
those things or money are acquired justly and correctly by their
parents or students.
c. Lying. There are bad lies ad good lies but both of them are not
telling the truth that’s why it makes a ethical issue. We all deserve
to know the truth and lying destroys trust and affects relationship.
Even the truth hurts you need to tell them in order for that someone
to grow up.
d. Smoking cigarette in the school. It is ethical issue if your within the
premise of the school because most school have laws the prohibits
students smoking within the school.
e. Discrimination in the school is popular ethical issue in the school.
Discrimination has big impact towards the students it make them
feel low esteem or worse they may commit suicide. Discrimination
is morally wrong and unethical.
5. Are forms of adornment such as tattoo and ear piercing for men
considered a subject discussion of ethics? Why or why not?
For me no because such things does not affect their morality and ethics
and what a person decides to do to their body does not represent certain
opinions they have or choices they may make in daily life.
