INTRODUCTION

Computers and information networks are critical to the success of business, both large
and small. They connect people, support applications and services, and provide
access to the resource that keep the businesses running. To meet the daily
requirements of businesses, networks themselves are becoming quite complex.

Top-Down Network Design


Network design should be a complete process that matches business needs to
available technology to deliver a system that will maximize an organization’s success.
- In the LAN area it is more than just buying a few devices.
- In the WAN area it is more than just calling the phone company.

I learned that this activity describing the methodology, this activity focuses on the first
step in top-down network design: analyzing your customer's business goals. Business
goals include the capability to run network applications to meet corporate business
objectives, and the need to work within business constraints, such as budgets, limited
networking personnel, and tight timeframes.
