Information on the locking of the filler cap of the oil tank

Airbus Helicopters has been informed of several events on AS350 helicopters in which almost all of the engine oil
was lost.

Investigations showed that these oil losses were due to an incomplete locking of the filler cap of the oil tank.
Depending on the position of the locking assembly, the lever can be positioned behind the spout and prevent
correct visualization of the locking (see photos below).

For this reason, the Work Cards related to the filling and the inspection of the oil system (as per helicopter version:
"Checks before the first flight (BFF)" (05-21-00-601), "Check P" (05-40-00,6-7), "Draining - Filling" (12-00-00-301)
and/or "Filling / Draining - Engine oil system" (79-00-00,3-1)) will be modified to call for special attention to the
correct locking of the cap. The image below will be added to request that the lever (5) be locked under the spout to
make its visualization easier.
