SECTION 1 Professional recognition

Membership grades and titles There are three other categories of membership:
The grades and titles of Engineers Ireland are available to anyone Affiliate for those not currently eligible for membership but
with the necessary competences. Normally, membership grades are associated with the engineering profession by virtue

Engineers Ireland is a signatory to a range of international and
bilateral agreements, which means that accredited level 6, 7 and 8
engineering qualifications, and the titles of Chartered Engineer,
Associate Engineer and Engineering Technician, are recognised
overseas. Within the EU, all engineering qualifications are accepted
on an equivalency basis by Engineers Ireland.
