    WHAT IS IT?

    (2007), it is the act of recruiting,
    transporting, or harboring a person
    through the use of force, fraud, or
    coercion for labor or sexual
    exploitation.

    - It is a modern form of slavery that

    human rights.

    HOW DOES IT AFFECT HUMAN TRAFFICKING?

    - As more technological advancements are made, more children and


    women are left vulnerable to the dangers of human trafficking and
    sexual exploitation.

    - According to a report by the Shared Hope International, as cited by


    Dolan (2017), technology became the most prominent facilitator of
    the commercial sex trade worldwide, excluding Jamaica.
    HOW DOES IT OCCUR?
    Recruitment
    Johns, or the clients of a human trafficking trade, often
    use social media sites, such as Facebook or Twitter, to
    contact and recruit potential victims.

    Trust
    Johns will then utilize various techniques to manipulate
    the victim and gain their trust. Some of these techniques
    include: a promise of a better job, making them a
    celebrity, pretending to be their lover, and providing a
    mode of transportation to the victims.

    Request
    The traffickers then remove the victim's method of
    communication and force him/her to comply with the
    client's request by implementing a type of punishment if
    he/she disobeys.
