A subject complement is a noun, a pronoun, or an adjective that appears with
a linking verb and tells something about the subject. Three types of subject complements are predicate nouns, predicate pronouns, and predicate adjectives.
A predicate noun is a noun that identifies or renames the subject of the
sentence.
A predicate pronoun is a pronoun that identifies or renames the subject of the
sentence.
A predicate adjective is an adjective that describes the subject of the
sentence.
A. DIRECTIONS: Underline the subject complement in each sentence.
Then, identify it by writing PN for predicate noun, PP for predicate pronoun, or PA for predicate adjective. 1. PP Clara’s uncle was he.
