1. Based on the description you have given, what do you think is SEX and what
is GENDER?
Sex refers to the biological differences between male and female, but the gender
is about your role society as man or as a woman.
2. What are the biological differences that make a person male or female?
Male and females has many differences for example males have penis, scrotum,
testicles, and large veins while females have a vagina, uterus, ovaries and small
veins.
The pictures that follow show beliefs and practices that pervade our society and
families. Write your reflections on each picture. Limit your comments in two
sentences only.
1. In the first picture it shows that males are hard laborers and hard workers in a
contruction site and you can’t see a girl doing these hard works that males do,
because males anre more physically strong than females.
2. This picture shows that the toys we played as kids for girls like me I used to
played my Barbie’s, Teddy bears, Disney princesses who have always dreamt of
the perfect prince. While boys played with their toy cars and pretends to be
Michael Jordan.
3. This picture is not on the gender you have but the skills you inherit. All of us has
different kinds of hobbies as we grow up and it depends on the community that
we grew.
4. This fourth picture shows that all of us have the common skills no matter what
gender you have it’s the compatibility that matters.
5. The last picture shows that the toy is not just for girls but for boys too. And it’s
for the boys who has a little sister not just because he’s gay.
Task 2. Identify a public space where you or a friend may have experienced being
harassed.
F 6. The LGBTQ community does not have the same rights as straight men or
women.
List down at least two 2 Philippine laws that protect women and children. Discuss
briefly how these laws can protect you in all spheres of your existence.
2. Republic Act 9262: Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act
It refers to “any act or a series of acts committed by any person against a woman
who is his wife, former wife, or against a woman with whom the person has or
had a sexual or dating relationship, or with whom he has a common child, or
against her child whether legitimate or illegitimate, within or without the family
abode, which result in or is likely to result in physical, sexual, psychological harm
or suffering, or economic abuse including threats of such acts, battery, assault,
coercion, harassment or arbitrary deprivation of liberty.
Design a poster that can best inform students of their rights and prevent possible
offenders from doing harassment in public spaces.
