Health Influences Assignment
1.  Throughout the week, the patterns of activities I see is that I tend do make healthier
choices during the week because I am more focused on school and sports but on
the weekends, I tend to make unhealthy choice because it is when I am free to hang out
with friends and do whatever I want. Not only do I choose to make healthy choices during
the week I also make unhealthy ones if it is me running to gymnastics practice late and
grabbing fast food for dinner or cutting off a driver when I'm biking because I am in a rush to
get somewhere. This renders the safety of my physical health because fast food has a lot of
fat in its food and could lead to me having long term health problems if I am always having
it but not only I could risk someone getting into an accident if I cut them off. I need to take
safety precautions while biking by taking my time. Though, I do make healthy choices on the
weekend if I am going on a bike ride with my friends or walking my dog. I do see that I tend
to balance both positive and negative influences but why do I choose to make them? I feel
that I chose healthy influences because I want to grow taller because I am very short. This
leads to me eating lots of fruits and vegetables and exercising on a daily basis. But, I do
make unhealthy influences because I want to show off to my friends and do what everyone
else is doing. This shows how I make more healthy choice on weekdays and more unhealthy
choices on weekends but every action I take on is influenced from my surroundings.
2. Yes, this is a good representation of my daily activities because most of the activities I
participate in weekly are so I can stay healthy and though I do take on some unhealthy
activities, I do it because it is something I enjoy doing. Every day I like to walk my dog
because it helps me gain leg muscle and helps my blood flow better, but it also helps my
dog get exercise. I also try to eat fruits and vegetables because it gives me fiber which is
vital for having a healthy digestive system. Though, something that I need to have every
night is eight or more hours of sleep so my body can repair itself and to help me be in a
good mood the next day. On the other hand, I do tend to eat junk food every week because
it is something I enjoy eating but hopefully I can better understand the risks of eating it and
maybe I will be able to cut back more. This shows how my grip of activities is a good
representation of my daily activities.
3. There are three areas of the health triangle that help us to stay healthy. First of all, there
is physical health which is the health of your body. This includes how much you exercise, the
food you eat, the amount of sleep, and your personal hygiene. The activities I participate in
that have affected this side of the triangle is I exercise for more than 1 hour a day, I also try
to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, get more than 8 hours of sleep, and take a shower every
day. These all help me either gain energy, maintain a healthy weight, or help me repair my
body. Moreover, social health is the way you interact with others or the health of your
relationships. This includes your communication, trust, and relationships with your friends
and family. The activities I participate in that have affected this side of the triangle is
hanging out with friends, taking care of my friends' pet, and going on a bike ride with my

family. These all help me either grow in my relationship with my friends because I have trust
with my friend while taking care of their pet and I become closer with my family so we can
better understand each other. Finally, mental health deals with how we think, feel, and
cope. This includes our knowledge, behavior, confidence, and development of skills. The
activities that I participate in that have affected this side of the triangle is meditation, going
to school, and what I learn from gymnastics practice. These all help either relax my mind,
learn and adapt to new things, or help me progress at gymnastics skill. All sides of the
health triangle have affected my life in many ways.
4. I have learned about health influences that they help us learn from our mistakes to
further understand how we can progress to having a healthy lifestyle. First of all, the
environment influences my health because if I see anything going on like my friends playing
a game or an accident on the side of the street, I’ll be eager to check out what it is
happening. Then I’ll decide to either play the game or stay and watch what’s going to
happen when the police get to the scene because it is something I am adapting to due to
my curiosity of my mind, my physical movement that is pushing me to see what is
happening, or it something new to me. This could either be positive or negative due to the
circumstances. Furthermore, media influences my health because if something is posted
and I find it interesting, I’ll either read more on it or try it out. Either this is because
someone famous is doing it or all my friends are. When the “keke” dance challenge came
out, everyone was trying it. I wanted to fit in and be cool so I did. This can be seen as a
positive influence if I’m having fun while doing it or negative if I’m not trying to be my own
unique self. Finally, technology influences my health because it causes me to not hang out
with my friends as much and it makes me more laid back. If I’m addicted to playing a game,
I’ll probably forget about if I had to hang out with my friends or do chores. If this becomes a
big habit, it could affect my confidence, self-esteem, and vision. This also goes for all teens.
This can be seen as a negative influence. I have learned a lot about health influences and
hopefully I can take this information and use it to make the right choices in the future.
5. Two other major influences I take part in is I participate in school physical education and
I pray before I go to bed. Participating in physical education fits the physical health side of
the triangle because it is how I get my everyday sixty minutes of exercise. This helps me to
become more fit and helps my blood flow more fluently. Not only is this physical health it is
also mental health and social health because it helps me relieve stress and helps me get
involved with other kids. Moreover, praying every night fits in the mental health side of the
triangle. It helps me to come closer to God and helps me relieve any pain or something that
is on my mind. I also pray to show him how grateful I am for having an amazing healthy
lifestyle. These are two other health influences that help me to become the person I am
today and the person I aspire to be in the future.
