    Injection nozzle opening pressure


    For LN-modified WÄRTSILÄ® Vasa 32-engines

    Engine type This Operating instruction concerns Vasa 32-engines that have been
    LowNOx-modified, but still have the original injection pump (type L’Orange
    PEO-G024, PEO-G030, or Bosch.)

    General When the LowNox-modification was first introduced, a higher nozzle


    opening pressure was used (450 bar). Service experience has shown that if
    the opening pressure is set to 350 bar, the combustion process (especially
    on part load operation) will be more efficient.

    Recommendation We recommend that the nozzle opening pressure is always set to 350 bar
    on LowNOx-modified engines having any of the above mentioned injection
    pumps.

    Note The nozzle opening pressure must always be the same on all cylinders!
