Description : This lesson talk about Simple Present Tense is a form of tense used
to describe something that is happening now (present) at a specific
time. Because it happens at the present time, you must use the first
verb (verb 1) in the sentence structure
In this lesson students will be able to used and understand about
simple present tense and its form.

PROCEDURES :
Pre Activity
Description Time Allocation
1. Teacher start the class with giving a zoom link to the student in
Whatsapp group, and all of students must join in the meeting
2. Teacher open the class with praying together, and greetings student 15 Minutes
and checking the attendance’s list
3. After that the teacher giving summary about the previous meetings.
Whilst Activity
1. Teacher share the presentation screen and giving explanation about
Simple Present tense (When use simple present tense, Verbal and
Nominal Sentence, Negative and Interrogative form and adverb of
frequently in simple present tense)
2. Teacher giving students some example to remember the material 30 Minutes
given
3. The Student ask to the teacher what part that they do not understand,
and then teacher answer with simply explanation

After Activity
 1. Teacher choose student who can giving summaries about the material
2. Teacher give information about the next material
3. Teacher give some exercise to the student, and student can doing that
after zoom meeting 45 Minutes
4. Teacher give motivation to the student
5. Teacher close the meeting
6. Student doing an exercise

A. Definition and Form of Simple Present tense
Simple present tense is a form that used to :
1. To give your opinion - I like ice cream. I don't like spicy food.
2. To talk about schedules - The library opens at eight. It doesn't open at 7.
3. To talk about daily habits (routine actions)- Sara eats a cheese for breakfast every day.
She doesn't eat cereal.
4. To give facts - The earth circles the sun. The moon doesn't circle the sun

Simple present tense form

Subject + Verb 1 + Object

1. Subject : I , You, We, They, He, She, It

2. Verb 1 : Words that show action or state of being
E.g. Drink, eat, swim, drive, sweep, etc.
3. Object : Include noun, adjective and adverb
B. Verbal and Nominal Sentence
1. Verbal Sentences
Sentence that uses a verb
Form:
Subject + (Verb 1+s/es)+ Object

Note :
 The subject for added s/es are (She, He, it)
 Verb that added “es” must ending with (s, o, ch, sh, x and z.)
 The suffix "es" is used when following a verb with a "y" ending that is preceded by a
dead letter. The "y" suffix will change to the letter "i" when the "es" suffix is added
e.g :

 She buys book in the G&G Bookstore. ( Dia membeli buku di toko buku G&G. )
 He eats some apple for lunch. ( Dia makan beberapa apel untuk makan siang.)
 He finishes his work at 7 o’clock . ( Dia menyelesaikan pekerjaannya tepat jam 7. )
 She discusses her homework with her friends. ( Dia mendiskusikan pekerjaan rumahnya
dengan teman-temannya. )
 Toni fixes broken wall. ( Toni membenarkan dinding yang retak. )
 She cries because her pet died this morning. ( Dia menangis karena hewan
peliharaannya mati pagi hari. )
 My mother fries some eggs for breakfast. ( Ibuku menggoreng beberapa telur untuk
sarapan.)

2. Nominal Sentence
The sentence that not used a verb, but they used noun and adjectives
Form:
Subject + To be+
Adjectives/Noun/ Adverb

Note : To be (Am, Is, Are)

 Am :I
 Is : She, He, It
 Are : They, We

E.g.

 She is a kind person

 I am a writer
 He is at swimming pool

C. Negative and Interrogative Form

1. Verbal Form

Subject + Do/ Does+ Not + Verb Negative form

1+ Object

Do/Does +Subject + Verb 1+

Object+ ? Positive form

E.g :
(+)Andi goes to Bali to meet his family.
(-) Andi does not go to Bali to meet his family
(?) Does Andi go to Bali to meet his family?

(+) They bring many books to school

(-) They do not bring many books to school
 (?) Do they bring many books to school?

2. Nominal form

Subject +To be (am, is, are) +

Negative Form
Not + Noun/Adjective/Adverb

To be (am,is,are)+Subject + Interrogative Form

D. Adverb of frequency in Simple Present Tense

The simple present tense is commonly used with the adverbs:

Always (Selalu)

Every (Setiap)

Often (Sering)

Normally (Biasa)

Usually (Biasanya)
 Sometimes (Kadang)

Seldom (Jarang)
Never (Tidak Pernah)

E.g
 I drink a cup of coffee every morning
 I always wake up at 5 a.m.
 Sometimes my father picks me up from school.
