Bachelor’s Program
Biomedicine is a collective name for the biological topics
focusing primarily with human health and well-being.
Biomedicine’s scope includes analyzing human biological
samples, performing research on human and animal diseases,
participating in the development of therapeutic strategies, such
as vaccines, medicines and medical treatments, both in private
industry as well as in governmental agencies. Biomedicine is the

Biomedicine is the primary spearhead that leads the discovery of novel therapies to cure human diseases. It is important that Biomedicine
students understand how human body works at molecular level. This knowledge will enable them to devise therapeutic strategies. We are
nurturing our students to become well-rounded biomedical scientists who are able to contribute to the health and the wellbeing of the
community.
The Biomedicine study program at i3L focuses on Infectious Diseases and Tumor Biology, which are still major health problems in Indonesia.
Students are trained in extensive practical and implementative projects, both nationally and internationally, to develop their pathways towards
becoming biomedical experts. We take pride in our students for their achievements and accomplishments during their study at i3L. Our alumni
are qualified to study in world class PhD programs, such as Melbourne University, directly after completing their study at i3L. Our students also
won a number of prestigious international awards that enable them to do internship and thesis projects, at top class Biomedicine research
institutes all over the world, which are integral parts of our curriculum. We welcome new students who have passion in Biomedicine and
curiosity in life sciences to join our i3L family
Leading the Development of New Biomedical Platform Vast Array of Career Options

Biomedicine at i3L is the first and the main basis to study human health at molecular theoretically and fully equipped with skills
player in designing novel drugs and and cellular levels. We incorporate in advanced laboratory techniques which
therapeutic approaches that target human Biomedicine with other life-sciences allow them to work in any medical fields

Amgen Scholars Program gave me a once in a lifetime
experience. During the program, I had the chance to learn new
research skills, social skills, networking, career knowledge, and
forge new friendships. I can say it was not just an ordinary
summer research program compared to my previous research
internships: it gave me new skills and broader knowledge on
science. It also gave me an insight on career choices I can
actually pursue. I used to believe that a career in science was
always related to being a doctor, pharmacists, lecturer, or R&D
in a drug company. Now I know that there are actually a lot
more different types of jobs which can give me exciting
experiences and a chance for me to develop myself as a
person. Be brave, dream big! After meeting and working with
my amazing peers and professors, I started to realize that
there is no such thing as an impossible achievement: I can
always make it if I give my best and do everything for the good
of society. What I could say to the other students like me out
there: apply to ASP and experience its benefits yourself!

Testimonial
Spending four years at i3L taught me to grow both personally and academically. Although my
first semester at i3L was rough, the intensive
engagement with faculty members, lab assistants, and staff members has provided me with a
wholesome study experience. Moreover, through the
internship programs, I was able to do my research at Soochow University, China, and Duke-NUS
Medical School, Singapore. I am also grateful for the support I received from the institution
which allowed me to participate in competitions and conferences, both nationally and
internationally. These experiences prepared me for my PhD study at the School of Biomedical
Sciences, University of Melbourne. Words cannot express my gratitude for the continuous
support from everyone at i3L.
