Load-shedding
Load-shedding means the discontinuation of supply of electricity. Load-shedding occurs when

generation of power is less than the demand. Besides, unplanned distribution and illegal
connection of electricity are also responsible for it. Houses, mills, factories, industries, shops,
hospitals all fall a victim to it. The running productive machines come to a stand still in mills and
factories. Domestic life becomes painful. The housewives grope in the darkness in the kitchen.
The sufferings of the students due to load-shedding are beggar description. The patients also
suffer terribly for load-shedding. Operations are stopped. The food kept in the refrigerators get
rotten. The commodities preserved in cold storages get spoiled. In fact, load-shedding causes
great suffering to the people and to the country. To get rid of this problem we need to take
effective steps to produce adequate power, planned distribution, to set up more electric plants,
to disconnect the illegal connections, to prevent misuse and to keep open the shopping places
and business centers during a schedule time. We want that our government should think over
the matter and take necessary steps as early as possible.
A School Library
A library is a place where books are kept for reading. It is a store house of books. It is a part and
parcel of a school. So there is a library in our school. There are many kinds of books in our
school. The students peacefully go there and borrow books from the librarian. It is a quite
place. It remains open all day. Many students sit there and study. There are many journals and
magazines in our school library. There are two big rooms. In one room, there are books of
science, history , literature etc in many language. In this room, books are kept in almiras and
shelves. The other room of the library is the reading room. Our school librarian comes in the
morning. He keeps the books in perfect order. He is very co-operative.
A School Magazine
A school magazine is a magazine that contains writings of the teachers and the students of a
school and it is published once a year. The aim of this publication is to encourage young
learners to flourish their hidden talents and creative faculties. It gives a view of the life of the
school and exposes the creative genius of the students. It contains stories, poems, articles,
jokes written by students and teachers. The publication of a school magazine is a very difficult
task. As a result, the editor and his assistants have to work hard to publish the magazine.
Generally, the magazine committee invites writings from students and teachers. The editorial
board selects the qualified ones for printing. The young writers get immense pleasure and
confidence when they can see their writings in print. The most important is that it brings out
the latent creative talents of the students and thus helps them to be great writers. It is also a
treasure island to the students because they can learn many things from the school magazine.
So a school magazine bears great importance in every educational institution and it is a part
and parcel of school life.
A winter morning
A winter morning is misty and cold. There is fog everywhere. Sometimes sun is not seen
because fog is very dense. Everything looked hazy. Nothing is seen clearly and people especially
poor people suffer a lot. The road accident is high in winter morning because the road is not
clearly seen for dense fog. The villagers gather straw and make fires to warm themselves. And
people bask in the sun. In winter morning people like to eat various kinds of pitha. Children get
up late. And morning school is very difficult for them. But the farmer and other poor people get
up early in the morning and go to there work. They worked all day long. In winter they suffer a
lot because they do not have good dress to save themselves from biting cold. They do not enjoy
that morning. So it is very difficult for them. In cities, people get up late and they remain busy in
taking breakfast quickly. For this reason they are not enjoy the scenery of a winter morning.
When the fog gradually disappears everyone go to their work. A winter morning is very
enjoyable to me.
A BOOK FAIR
A book fair is a place where books of various kinds are brought for sale and display. It is a very
popular fair. In fact, a book fair is considered to be an occasion of great festivity to the book-
lovers. It is usually held in the winter season on an open place in most of the major cities of the
country. The main thing about a book fair is not sale but display of books on different subjects.
It is organized by various institutions on various occasions, namely, Martyrs Day, Victory Day,
Independence Day etc. The leading publishers of the country set up stalls of their recent
publications as well as old ones. Various kinds of novels, poetical works and science fictions are
mainly available in a book fair. A festive look prevails all around. The renowned artists, poets’
intellectuals gather there and take part in the seminars and cultural programmes. Last year, I
paid a visit to the Ekushey Boimela, the most popular book fair held in the premises of bangle
academy. My personal impression about a book fair is that it can play an important role in
developing the habit of reading books among the people. It is a device to spread culture,
education and knowledge. It changes our outlook on life and widens our domain of learning.
