1. PURPOSE
This document lays out the set of procedures to be followed on Multi Angle Saw(T1300x120),
Bay-1 of the Katerra India Private Limited, Hyderabad. Multi Angle saw is primarily used for
cutting pre-stressed floor slabs with a 415mm (T100) thickness or a 515mm (T1300)
thickness. It is hoped that by following the processes outlined in this document, all direct
stakeholders will be able to comply with the Katerra quality guidelines.

2. INTRODUCTION
Katerra strives for excellence and perfection across all of its components and verticals. While
the existing structures have been holding the company in good stead, to really make an
impact and be true to the organisational values, a well-defined set of procedures is required.
This document outlines the procedures for Multi Angle saw, in a hope to increase efficiency
of the equipment.
It is hoped that the relevant stakeholders make use of this, and put forward their suggestions
to ensure that the document stays updated.

3. SCOPE
The Multi Angle saw has been designed for the cutting of pre-stressed floor slabs with a
415mm (T1100) thickness or a 515mm (T1300) thickness. The maximum slab thickness with
blade Ø 1100 mm is 415 mm. The maximum slab thickness with blade Ø1300mm is 515 mm.

4. DEFINITIONS

Multi Angle saw: A machine that cuts floor Slabs of required dimension.

6. SPECIFIC PROCEDURE

6.1 Starting of the Operation: Saw Adjustments, Initial Settings

6.1.1 Switch on the main voltage

6.1.2 Release the EMERGENCY-STOP buttons at the control place and outside the machine.

6.1.3 Switch on the control voltage from the control panel, after which a signal light glow.

6.2 Operating Instructions 1.1


6.2.1 Make a cut
1. After powering on the machine and
resetting the emergency circuit (using the
blue “Reset” button) follow the next steps 1
to make a cut.
2. The homing procedure can be started by
pressing the green “Start” button. Once
completed, the slab can be detected by
pressing the green “Start” button again.
Both cycles can be started manually using
the buttons in the “Machine Status”
a. Start calibrating procedure [1]
b. Start Detect slab [2]
After homing and detecting the slab, the machine is ready to make the first cut.
a. Activate the driving motion by pressing the X- Button [3]
b. Drive to the desired position
c. Press the green start button (flashing = waiting for the start)
d. When the cut is done you can start driving to the next cut.

6.2.2 Changing the Angle


1. Rapidly tab on the angle twice [4].
A pop-up screen appears prompting you to
enter the angle.
2. Press “Enter” [5]
3. The angle will start changing.
4. Press the green start button to start the
cut.

6.2.3 Stop Sequence


1. Press the red stop button to move the saw
blade to a safe position
2. Press the shutdown button [6]
3. Power off the machine, put the “Main switch” on “Off”.

6.3 Setting of the Water System

6.3.1 Washing can be switched ON by enabling the “water” icon [1] on screen when the machine is
operated at manual mode. There is no need to enable the water system, when in auto mode.

6.3.2 Water can be disabled by tapping the “Disable Water” [2] icon on screen, whenever it is not
required.

6.4 Settings for Cutting

6.4.1 Diameter Saw blade


This setting should contain the diameter of the saw blade.
6.4.2 Lane width
This setting should contain the width of the bed
6.4.3 Rail height
This setting should contain the rail height.
6.4.4 Lane distance
This setting should contain the distance the sawblade should keep from the bed. Note that
the position of the” Calibration Sensor Z “directly affects this distance.
6.4.5 Partial cut height
This setting contains the distance between the bed and the saw cut when “Partial Cut” is
enabled on the main screen.
6.4.6 Auto partial cut height per cut
This setting contains the height of each cut when “Auto Partial Cut” is enabled on the main
screen.
6.4.7 Centre profile width
This setting contains the width of the centre profile.
6.4.8 Custom set in position
This setting contains the position of the start of the cut when “Custom Set in Position” is
enabled on the main screen.
6.4.9 Custom stop position
This setting contains the position of the end of the cut when “Custom Set Stop Position” is
enabled on the main screen.
6.4.10 Lifting position Y
6.4.11 Lifting position Z
These settings contain the position that puts the centre of gravity in the middle of the
machine.

6.4.12 Pause after X cuts


This setting contains the number of cuts after which the machine will pause during operation
using PXML files.
6.4.13 Velocity X-Y
This setting contains the maximum cutting velocity in the X-Y direction.
6.4.14 Velocity Z
This setting contains the maximum cutting velocity when the sawblade is lowered into the
slab.
6.4.15 Home pos. Y
This window displays the position of the Y axis when the calibration sensor is activated.
6.4.16 Home pos. Z
This window displays the distance between the sawblade and the bed when the calibration
sensor is activated.

Planning table is where you enter the distance between cuts and the amount of each cut.
a. For Example: from the below pic, the values are entered as 4 cuts of 1000mm in
reverse direction, followed by 4 cuts of 500mm in forward direction and 2 cuts of
1000mm backwards.
b. Indicates in what steps the planner is currently
c. Enable the automatic cycle, after pressing this the program will take over after
the first cut
d. Do each cut in steps, the machine waits before performing the next step
e. The amount of cuts the machine has done during the plan.

7. CLEANING THE MACHINE


After every production, hose the guards down with high pressure water. The guards’
conductors must always be free from concrete residue to maintain sufficient spacing
between the inner and outer guard. After cleaning the components with water, it is best to
spray them with dismantling oil, to make cleaning easier in future.
