TRAVELOGUE IN “BAGUIO CITY”
Baguio, on the Philippines’ Luzon island, is a mountain town of universities and resorts. Called the
“City of Pines,” its particularly popular in summer due to unusually cooler weather. At its center is
Burnhampark, with gardents and a lake. Last April 23, 2007 we arrived at Baguio City with my family, cousins,
aunt and uncle. My aunt planned and prepared our trip here in Baguio she rent an apartment for us near in the
Burnham park for our stay overnight in Baguio.

I enjoyed my stay in Baguio with my family. We went around there on the famous tourist spot here in
Baguio.

On our way to Baguio, when we saw a

gigantic Lion’s Head Along Kennon Road it’s one of recognizable landmarks in Baguio. So, our family
stopover and we took a souvenir photograph with the famous gigantic lion’s head before entering Baguio’s
downtown area.
Our next destination after the lion’s head in Kennon Road is the Burnham Park it’s just a walking distance from
our apartment. With my cousins together we go in Burnham lake it’s at the center of the park. We rent a boat
to do boating the fee is Php.100.00/30 minutes. We tried boating, the boat we choose is the swam boat. There
are also bikes for rent. You can rent either single bikes, tandem bikes or even bike with side cars. They even
have a small bikes for kids. With my cousin we rent a single bike and we enjoy the ride around the park, its too
nice to do bicycle ride because of the cool weather of the park. It’s unlimited when you pay the fee of Php.40.00
only.

Our next destination is to try Horseback Riding in Camp John Hay. Well this experience is the
different experience for me. That time it’s my first to ride a horse. So, all the time I was seated straight and
relaxed, while staying in tune with my horse, while listening to the guide’s instructions. The hour long horse is
truly
worth it and
enjoy.
After the Horseback Riding in Camp John Hay we all go back in our apartment to take rest. Then the
next morning, we all go in Mines View Park it’s one of the colorful destination in Baguio. You can buy
souvenir because around there are stall selling souvenir items like brooms, necklace, keychain and many more.
Also you can post or take a picture with the famous dog there the St. Bernards it’s hudge cuddly and cute dog.
You can take a photo on the view of the mountain ranges of the Cordillera Regions.

And our last destination is the Strawberry Farm in La

Trinidad Valley, Benguet a few meters a way from Baguio. In this place you can get to pick strawberries right
alongside the Ibaloi farmers to bring home or consume while on vacation in the Summer Capital of the
Philippines. The rates for the strawberry picking vary. The strawberry picking is an experience well worth it.
