Offshore Oil Drilling Services
Satmarindo Group’s first major business in the 70’s/80’s.
Provided construction, labor, and equipment services to
various oil drilling companies . At its peak, the company
employed 1,000+ employees and generated $150 Million
revenues per annum.

EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery)


A servicing contract with Pertamina in the 1990’s-2000’s.
It involved extracting crude oil in in Pertamina’s Lirik Oil
Field in Sumatra and transporting it to port for shipment
to Pertamina’s storage & refining facilities. The business
generated $36 million revenues per year.

Coal Mine Development


In the mid-2000s, Satmarindo partnered up with a group
from the Middle East to develop a 5,000 has coal mine, a
project with JORC compliant coal reserve of 1.6 billion mt.
The partnership formed PT MEC Coal with an investment
of $400 Million. Project was eventually sold.

1. Consumer Products Marketing
Satmarindo presently co-owns the Giordano franchise in
Indonesia, a successful garments marketing business.
Started in 1997, the business now operates 250 stores,
generating annual revenues of around $100 Million.
Other product lines being considered for test market:
fruit drinks from Korea, chocolates from Ukraine, gas
retailing to motorcycle users.

2. Agri-Business Development
PT Satrya Nayaka Infrastruktur (SNI) is new company in
the Satmarindo group formed to engage in agri-
business projects. It’s first initiative is the development
of a palm oil processing facility in Central Sulawesi.
Target initial production is 60 tons of CPO per day,
generating revenue of $7-10 Milion per year. SNI also
holds concessions of some 70,000 hectares of land in
Sulawesi, with potential for growing palm, cocoa,
rubber and Coconut.

3. Industrial-Commercial Property Investments
Satmarindo is engaged in land banking and has acquired
a number of properties with great potential for industrial
and commercial development projects. The current asset
portfolio, with an estimated market value of $75 Million,
include: 15 hectares prime industrial land/marine facility
in West Java; 16 hectares industrial coastal property in
South Sumatra; 3 hectares commercial property in South
Jakarta, 500 sq m. prime office space in Central Jakarta.

4. Resort and Tourism Development Projects


Satmarindo has also invested in properties with potential
for tourism and resort facilities, located in three popular
travel spots in Indonesia: Manado, Sulawesi - 200 hec-
tares for eco-tourism resort project; Karimun Jawa, Java
- 100 hectares of island property with access to natural
marine parks; and Bali-1.2 hectares for a hotel project.
The portfolio is worth an estimated $175 Million.

5. Trading: Korea-Indonesia
Satmarindo has set up Daihan Nusa Trading Ltd. based
in Seoul, Korea to exploit trading opportunities between
Korea and Indonesia. Of interest are goods from Korea
that Indonesia needs: industrial machineries and equip-
ments, engineering services, & construction expertise.
In turn, Indonesia can export goods to Korea with good
market demand: coffee, oil, marine products, & various
raw materials/ingredients for manufacturing.

6. Gas-Fired Power Plant Development


PT Surya Satrya Samudra, a Satmarindo company, is
developing a power plant project in Central Sulawesi, in
partnership with the local government, using its alloca-
tion of gas produced from the Donggi-Senoro LNG Plant
in Luwuk. Initial plans are for a 50 MW power plant.
Negotiations are underway for the gas supply. The group
is in talks with Korean engineering companies for EPC
possibilities. Project financing options are under study.

7. Hydro Power Projects


PT Arbaya Energy, another Satmarindo Group company, is developing a string of
mini hydro power projects in at least 10 locations in Central Sulawesi. Technical
studies are now underway for the first 5 projects in the Banggai District of the
province. The group is in talks with a European strategic partner for technology
transfer and project financing arrangements. The group plans to complete all
requirements for the first project to negotiate a PPA with PLN by end 2018/early
2019.
