(At ICON International I compiled a Daily News Summary for the benefit of the team which

invoked media monitoring for clients and updated excel documents for clients regarding
relevant media mentions, which directly correlate with this position's media coverage and list
responsibilities. )

Dear Jeremy,

As a graduate journalism student who has completed an internship at The North Shore Times,
ICON International Communications, Marketing Eye and 3D Cards, has been published at Blitz
magazine and the literary journal UNSWeetened I am confident I have the required skills and
experience to be successful as a media coordinator.

The role requires assistance with media writing, monitoring, liason and research on client
campaigns. I assisted with all those aspects of public relations at Marketing Eye, ICON, and 3D
Cards, where I conducted media research, monitoring and reporting for lifestyle brands such as
Almond Breeze, Calima Coffee, Crocadaddle Socks and Suntory Whiskey as well as corporate
clients such as Hertz, FedEx and Nudge Accounting. I wrote press releases and blog posts and
created social media content. I have been involved in SEO.

In addition, I gained experience as the Social Media manager for the start-up Gradflow, where I
created content, advised on audience strategy and created blog posts across platforms such as
Facebook, Wordpress and Instagram.

The role requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. I interned at The North
Shore Times where I was responsible for news article writing including a cover story, in-person
and phone interviews and research for the purposes of articles on deadline. I was expected to
multi task research and article writing during my work experience.

In addition, I have been published in Blitz magazine, the University of New South Wales student
magazine where I conducted interviews and wrote articles. I have written copy and conceptually
designed advertisements for the UNSW ArtsSoc.

I have a good grasp of English writing that is essential for PR as evidenced of my years of English
tutoring. Being chosen from more than 700 applicants to publish a short story in the
UNSWeetened Literary Journal 2014 was the culmination of years of fiction writing that applies
the same foundations of articulation, readability and creativity that are evident in all media
writing.

I have completed a degree in Media and Communications (Journalism) at the University of New
South Wales with an average mark of 68.4. I am proficient with Microsoft Office.
Please find my résumé attached. I look forward to hearing from you to further discuss this
position as well as my vocational and academic achievements. Thank you for your time and
consideration.

Regards,

Owen
