International School
PRESENTATION
Our Story
The education system in Romania has failed
to develop into a contemporary educational
model, one that responds to the current
needs of both young people and the job
marketplace. It has not been able to keep up
with other countries in modernising and has
remained an old system in which children
are the most affected.
The two private international schools opened in the last years in Cluj-Napoca, both COBIS accredited
are very expensive and therefore unaffordable for the majority of the population.
Driven by the desire to offer high quality education at an affordable price for a wide range of families,
a group of parents decided to create KEY International School. We opened our doors in October
2017 for children aged 3-12 years old.
Because we believe in making a difference and giving back to the community, the school is a not-
for-profit organization offering pre-kindergarten through primary school education to talented
students from all backgrounds.
In addition to providing quality education led by dedicated professional faculty, we have a wide
variety of extracurricular activities such as tennis, swimming, basketball, table tennis, and afterschool
clubs: toddlers’ club, robotics, ballet, science, yoga for kids, music, art therapy and more.
Located in a safe private condominium with modern facilities that include two outdoor playgrounds,
an indoor sports hall, a recreational green area with a lake and from next school year a swimming
pool, our school provides comfort and security. Parents at KEY International School have peace of
mind that their children have the environment to grow harmoniously. Moreover, the proximity to a
large shopping centre and the most modern sports park in the country are other advantages
benefitting Key International School and its community.
Already in our first year, the future looks bright! KEY International School is due to be the only
International Baccalaureate accredited school outside of the Romanian capital. Starting with the next
academic year, we will open a Romanian line with grade 0 for the 2018-19 year, with plans for future
expansion.
Be the best version of ourselves
Whether you are a student, a teacher, a staff member, or a parent at KEY International School, it is
important to bring your complete self to the school. We value having a diversity of minds; we
empower everyone to share their own ideas and experiences.
Always care for those around us
KEY International School is more than a school: it is a family and a community in which we care for
one another. We support each other’s growth and development inside the school, while striving to
make a positive impact on the outside world.
Your Support
KEY International School is seeking support from individuals, companies, and governmental
institutions who are committed to providing quality, international education for the local and regional
communities in Cluj-Napoca.
Why us?
When you step into our school, you enter an extraordinary place for the next generation -- a place
dedicated to helping our children become the best version of themselves. Teachers, staff, parents,
and children grow together in an environment that is creative and warm as well as generous and
respectful. Because of this mindful atmosphere, our students feel safe, respected, confident and
proud to be part of the family. They are supportive of each other and show commitment, curiosity,
and empathy every day.
