NXAirS withdrawable metal-enclosed switchgear for rated voltage 40.5kV

Operation NXAIR

The principle overview

After electricity self-inspection on this controller passes successfully and it enters standby
state; motor drive cassette fault output contact 19#, 20# disconnect, motor drive ES fault
output contact #20, 21# disconnect, there’s no output in output port #27, 28# for drive and
output port 29#, 30# for motor drive ES.

When inputting operation command, according the current withdrawable unit or earthing
switch position and other interlocking signal state (such as switching-off position of earthing
switch, switching-on position of earthing switch, withdrawable unit service position,
withdrawable unit testing position, remote position, allow withdrawable unit motor drive
allow earthing switch motor drive, forbid withdrawable unit motor drive, forbid earthing
switch, breaker switching-on position, breaker switching-off position, HV door close position,
rear door close position, etc.) the system will judge and give processing.

1. When not meet this start-up logic, it does not respond to this command; the output state
does not change and not ready indicator lights up.

2. When meet this start-up logic (see operation logic table for details) start immediately the
motor drive mechanism through 27 #, 28 # or 29 #, 30 # motor drive port and operate
in the target direction, and continuously detect withdrawable unit or earthing switch
positions and interlock signal, and judge the motor running current and run-time, when
a stop condition is detected (see operation logic table), such as withdrawable unit or
earthing switch operation reach the specified position, blocking, overtime, etc., turn off
the motor drive signal immediately and brake quickly, complete one operation.

If the stop is caused by overloading blocking, the system will enter fault lock-out state and will
not respond to any operation command, and the controller fault indicator lights up, electric
withdrawable unit fault output contact 19 #, 20 #, or electric earthing switch fault output contact
20 #, 21 # connect, fault information can be cleared by continuously pressing the controller panel
reset button for 3 seconds or more, resume standby state.

14 Load Switch & Transformer Compartment Operating Instructions

14.1 Power on operation:

a) Close HV door
Precondition:
• Make sure the earthing switch is in closed status.
• Rear cover or rear door has been closed
Pull down the handle, close the door;
Insert the key into lock hole, and take it out after rotating it clockwise 90° .

b) Insert the hand crank into the operation hole and rotate it anticlockwise 90° , to open the
insulating plate which in the switchgear(at this time, high-voltage door cannot be opened).

c) Insert the operation of the handle into the operation hole of the earthing switch and
rotate it clockwise 180° , the earthing switch will be switched off.

d) ) Switch on the load switch

Insert the operation of the handle into operation hole of the load switch
First, rotating anticlockwise 45° , then rotate clockwise 120° ~150° .

Anticlockwise 45° release clockwise for 120° ~150°

rotate anticlockwise for 135° , load switch is closed.

15. Service

15.1 Maintenance of switchgear.

Maintenance of switchgear equipment, such as circuit-breaker voltage transformer, current
transformer, relay, meter and retection equipment, shall be in accordance with the
requirements of the relative operation manuals.

●● Maintenance work can be performed by using normal tools.

●● After the maintenance work finished, switch on the switchgear again according to
operation manual.
●● If the ambient environment contains too much dust humidity or pollution, the

maintenance cycle shall be shortened.

●● In shorter maintenance period (according to the specifications of customers), coat

lubrication oil on the contact of main circuit (a), fixed contact of earthing switch (f) and
other parts with friction, such as driving shaft of movable mechanism (s) and guide rail (d).
For (a) and (f) pose Long-term2 shall be used for (s) and (d) Isoflex Topas L32 shall be used.
●● Besides periodic maintenance, if any fault occurred, causes for faults and short circuits

must be investigated immediately and damaged equipment must be replaced at once.

s)

a)

f) d)

Every year (or according to the specifications of customers)

Carry out routine check on damage, dust accumulation.
Check whether the accessories are in good conditions (including maintenance truck).

In the tenth years (or according to the specifications of customers)

Check the movement conditions of earthing switch.
Clean switchgear and check the status of HV connection points (joints) of High Voltage parts.
Check the torque of insulator and transformers.

43
NXAirS withdrawable metal-enclosed switchgear for rated voltage 40.5kV

Operation NXAIR

Check the switchgear functions, and the switchgear can be switch on after the check.

15.2 Prerequisites for the circuit breaker maintenance

Preconditions:
●● Switch off the power supply;
●● Circuit breaker is open;

●● Spring energy not charged.

! Danger !
After spring energy is charged, pay attention to safety during the operation of
circuit breaker.
Switch off LV power supply prior to any maintenance work.
Operate the circuit-breaker to OPEN condition, in order to ensure the circuit-
breaker is open and spring energy is not charged.

We suggest performing visual check speriodically.

To reach the optimum insulation effect, insulation parts must be kept clean.
Insulation parts shall be cleaned by wet cloth and moderate detergent, such as canned
detergent.
If other parts are very dirty, wiping cloth can be used for cleaning.
Isoflex Topas L32(produced by Klueber) shall be used for parts that need lubrication.
