• Seat ergonomics:
One of the most important aspects to consider when buying a seat is the ergonomics. After
all, replacing an employee due to physical problems is much harder and more expensive than
replacing a seat.

One simple rule to keep in mind if you want to preserve the ergonomics of the original
machine, is to replace the broken seat with a 100% equivalent aftermarket alternative. If this is
not possible due to unavailability or price, TVH can provide a seat that offers equal economic
advantages either via MyPartsFinder or via other media.

One of the most important features is the seat height (seating position). If a seat is too high
it will be uncomfortable, too low is hardly even a problem, so we recommend you a seat that
has approximately the same sitting height as your old seat.

Seat belts:
• ALR seat belt:
Automatic Locking Retractors lock when the lap belt is put around the wearer.

ECE R16 technical definition:

A retractor allowing extraction of the strap to the desired length and which, when the buckle
is fastened, automatically adjusts the strap to the wearer. Further extraction of the strap is
prevented without voluntary intervention by the wearer.

• MUR seat belt:

Manual Unlocking Retractors unlock when the lever is operated.
When in use, this acts as a static seat belt.

• ELR seat belt:

Emergency Locking Retractors lock in case of:
a) webbing acceleration: retractor will lock if the webbing is snatched (Typically abrupt torso
movement)
b) vehicle movement: retractor will lock with sudden vehicle movement (Typically abrupt
stopping, vibration or roll-over)

ECE R16 technical definition:

A retractor which - during normal driving conditions - does not restrict the freedom of move-
ment by the wearer of the safety-belt. Such a device has length adjusting components which
automatically adjust the strap to the wearer and a locking mechanism actuated in an emer-
gency
