FORMAT FOR HERITAGE PROFILING

The following are the needed data in writing your paper:

If you are to survey a natural resource:


A. Name of the natural heritage
B. Background Information
1. Sub-Category (Example: sea, river, stream, waterfall, wetland, etc.)
2. Location
3. Area (in hectares)
4. Ownership (Example: The property is owned by the LGU)
C. Description
Here you are to write the description of the natural heritage. Everything that you or
observe.
D. Stories associated with the water formation
Interview people on how did the heritage was formed.
E. Significance
What is the significant of the place? Is it being use for tourism, economic activities, etc.
F. Conservation
1. Status of protection (Are there any ordinance from the Barangay or the Province
protecting the place?
2. Constraints/Threats/Issues (Example: It is full of garbage or it is being used for
quarry thus the place is being destroyed.)
3. Conservation measures (Narrate any conservation measures being done by the
Barangay.
G. Photo
H. Acknowledgement: Acknowledge those who helped you in this project such as the son
of the Barangay captain, etc.
If you are to survey buildings or churches, etc.:
A. Background Information
1. Type (Example: School, Church, Library, etc)
2. Ownership (Public or Private)
3. Address
4. Area
5. Year of Construction/Estimated Age:
6. Ownership (Example: LGU)
7. Declaration/Legislation (Example: Built by virtue of the Philippine Rehabilitation Act
of 1946
B. Description (Describe the building and everything you see inside and outside.
1. Physical Description
2. History of the building
C. Stories associated with the structure (Anecdotes such as ghosts seen in the structure.
How and when did it happen?)
D. Significance
1. Historical (Is it a historical building?
2. Social (How is this building important to the people. Example: Many people are
coming into the building to do government transactions.)
3. Aesthetic (How is the building adding beauty to the community or to the town?)
E. Conservation
1. Status/Condition of the structure (Excellent, good, deteriorated. Explain.)
2. Constraints/Threats/Issues (Example: The building has huge cracks after the
earthquake which may cause the building to collapse if not fixed.)
F. Conservation Measures (Are there any fixtures done to preserve the property?)
G. List of other heritage seen inside such as old desk, cabinet, paintings, etc. Give a
description for each and a photo.
H. Photos
I. Acknowledgement: Acknowledge those who helped you in this project such as the son
of the Barangay captain, etc.
