1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. Effectivity

This Service Bulletin is applicable to Parker Hannifin Corporation Hydraulic Electrical Motor Pump
(EMP), Part Number (P/N) 51154-04.

B. Concurrent Requirements

Not applicable.

C. Reason

The previous EMP P/N 51154-04/-05 (herein after referred to as 51154) experienced reliability
problems due to the electric motor and a small number of pump failures. The new EMP P/N 632700-
1001 has provided and greatly improved the reliability of the unit as demonstrated by an In-Service
Evaluation.

D. Description

The previous EMP P/N 51154 was replaced by a Parker designed and manufactured unit P/N
632700-1001, has solved the failure modes identified in earlier vendor-supplied motor. The new EMP
which uses the improved Parker motor includes a new shaft seal assembly, lip seal, dashpot
assembly, and wavy washer.

F. Approval

The technical content of this document is approved under the authority of the DOA ref.
EASA.21J.031.

G. Manpower

(1) If the EMP is removed for implementation of the Service Bulletin only, the man-hours necessary
for the upgrading to P/N 51154 are shown in Table 1.

(2) No additional man-hours are required if the Service Bulletin is done during the repair or overhaul
of the EMP.

3. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS

A. General

The following instructions are provided to replace and re-identify the previous EMP P/N 51154 with a
new EMP P/N 632700-1001.

B. Preparation

Not applicable.

C. Procedure

(1) Remove the old parts listed in Table 2, in accordance with (IAW) CMM 29-10-70 DISASSEMBLY
section.

(2) Install the new parts listed in Table 2, IAW CMM 29-12-97 ASSEMBLY section.

D. Re-identification of Equipment

Using laser engrave, electro-chemical etch, vibro-pen or an equal alternate permanent part mark
method, transfer the serial number and cage code from the old identification plate to the new one,
IPL1 Item 645. Mark the new identification plate with P/N “632700-1001” and model number
“PMV1V-26”.

E. Test

Test the EMP IAW CMM 29-12-97 TESTING and FAULT ISOLATION section.
