Practice 3 – Spot the mistakes

Last Saturday, some scouts go camping in the jungle.

They pitch up the tents near the river. Then, they prepare the food. Suddenly, the wind blow and
spread.

They are shocked. They collect the water from the river to stop the fire. They are grateful. Their
teacher scold them.

Their teacher is angry and tell them to be careful. They clean place and continue cooking.

Shah is a good boy. One afternoon, he walks from his school. Suddenly, he sees two naughty
boys, Kamal and Maslan are drawing the school wall with some graffiti.

Shah then informs his teacher, Mr. Azman about the incident. Kamal and Maslan are
punished. Mr Azman warns them too.

They repaints the wall with a new paint. Mr. Azman advises them to be a good boy and do not
repeat the same mistake. They thanks Mr. Azman for the advice.

One evening, Adam and his friends plans to play football. They wants to practice very hard
for the football competition.

They go to the field at their village. They play football happily. Adam is very good in football.
Everyone enjoys the football practice.

Suddenly, Adam kicks very hard. The ball knocks down the flower vase. It is Puan Rosmah’s
vase. All his friends runs away . Puan Rosmah is very angry. She scolds Adam. Adam
apologizes to Puan Rosmah and promises to be careful.

One day, Siti dries her clothes outside her house. There are some workers working there. It is
very noisy. Siti finishes her work.

Suddenly, she hears some noises. There are some monkeys on the roof. She chases the
monkeys but the monkeys steals her clothes. Siti shouts for help. The monkey runs to the roof
of her house.

Her neighbours see the incident. They call the firemen for help. The catch the monkey. Siti
thanks the firemen and her neighbours.

One day, Mira and her friends walks home from their school. When they reach one big tree,
they hear a cat sound. Everyone is shock and looks for the noise.
They go to the tree and find one cat is on the tree branch. The tree is high and the cat is scared.

Mira quickly calls the fire station. After that, the firemen comes and saves the cat. Mira and
her friends thanks the fireman. They are very happy because the cat is safe.

Johan is a good boy. One morning, he cycles his bicycle to the market. Suddenly, he sees one
old woman. She walks slowly. She carries a big basket. Johan feels sorry for her.

He stops his bicycle and helps the old woman. He puts the basket on his bicycle seat and walks
with the old woman.

They arrive safely at her house. She thanks Johan for his kindness. She gives Johan some
mangosteens. Johan thanks her and goes home happily.

One morning, Siti and her sister go to the beach. They collects some seashells for their
handicrafts project. Suddenly, they see one bottle. They are shocked.

Siti takes the bottle and shakes it. She sees a letter inside the bottle. She gives to her mother.
Her mother reads the letter and she is very shocked because she remembers that she writes the
letter twenty five years ago.
Her mother reads the letter to them. It is a birthday wish when she is small. They are very
surprised on that day.

Ali loves painting. One evening, he goes to the park. He paints beautiful picture of sceneries.

Suddenly, one boy runs very fast and knocks down his painting kits. Some water and colours
spills on the ground. The boy falls and injures himself.

Ali helps the boy to stand up but his knees is bruised. He apologizes to Ali. Ali advises him to
be careful in the future. After he cleans up the thing, he brings the boy to his home.

Practice 4 – Rewrite and highlight main verbs

Last Saturday, a group of boy-scouts went camping in the jungle. They pitched their tents near
the river. It was a windy day. Later they were tasked to prepare the dinner. They lit (lighted) the
fire and suddenly the wind blew strongly causing some sparks to spread over the bushes.

They were panicked and their scout master immediately asked them to put out the fire. They
collected the water from the river and finally managed to stop the fire. They were all relieved
and felt grateful that the fire did not destroy their tents.

The scout master was very angry and he had warned everyone to be more watchful in the future.
They cleaned the mess and enjoyed their dinner.
Shah is a dedicated school prefect. One afternoon, while he was walking home after the school,
he saw two mischievous boys, Kamal and Maslan were vandalising the school wall with some
graffiti.

Immediately Shah informed his disciplinary teacher, Mr. Azman about the incident. Both Kamal
and Maslan were called and subsequently punished. They were given stern warning too.

As a punishment, they were asked to repaint the wall with a new paint. Mr. Azman advised them
to behave and do not repeat the same offence. Both were regretful and thanked Mr. Azman for
the advice.
Adam and his friends were selected to represent their school in a football competition. One
evening, they planned to have a football practice.

As agreed, they went to the field at their neighbourhood and started playing football. They
dribbled the ball and showed their skills handsomely. Everyone was really enjoyed the practice.

As he was preoccupied with the game, Adam had accidentally kicked the ball hitting the
vase belonging to his neighbour, Puan Rosmah. All his friends ran away . Adam apologised to
the lady and promised to be more alert in the future.
Kamal and his friends are active scouts. Last weekend, they planned a trip to a famous
waterfall near their village. As planned, they departed early in the morning and reached there an
hour later.

Once they found a suitable camping spot, immediately they pitched up the tents and unpacked
all the stuff. Then, they collected firewood and later set the campfire. After that they enjoyed
bathing at the waterfall.

After they enjoyed their dinner, they sang some songs and played some games. It was indeed a
memorable camping experiences for Kamal and their friends.
Last Sunday, Sarah and Aina went to the shopping mall. Suddenly, Sarah saw a girl crying.
The girl was lost and afraid.
They decided to help her. They walked to the girl. Aina gave her a candy. After that, they
took the girl to the information counter. The person at the counter made an announcement.
Soon, the girl’s parents came to the counter. They thanked Sarah and Aina for their help.
Sarah and Aina were glad that they had done a good deed.
