Guide for Installation of the Offline LRMDS

1. INTRODUCTION
This guide is intended for bidder’s representative to install the Offline LRMDS that will be used as
part of the testing procedure.

2. INSTALLATION OF XAMPP WEB SERVER


To install the XAMPP web server, do the following steps:

1. From the Flash drive, copy the xampp-win32-7.2.12-0-VC15-installer.exe file to the root
directory e.g. C:\
2. Run xampp-win32-7.2.12-0-VC15-installer.exe with administrator privilege.
3. Click the OK button:

5. Uncheck other service except: Apache, PHP, and phpMyAdmin. Then click Next.

6. Leave the default installation folder then click Next.


7. Uncheck the “Learn more about Bitnami for XAMPP” then click Next.

8. Click Next to begin the installation process.


9. A successful installation will display the dialog box below, Leave the “Do you want to
start Control Panel now?” check box then click Finish to exit setup.

3. RUNNING XAMPP FOR THE FIRST TIME
XAMP will automatically run after the installation was completed. To run xampp manually, Click the
Windows button and search for XAMPP Control Panel.

1. Upon first launch of XAMPP, choose US language and click Save.

2. The XAMP Control Panel will display, On the Actions, click the Start button for
Apache service

3. To check that the apache service is successfully running, the Port(s) should display
80,443.

4. Configure XAMPP to allow apache service to access lrportal as root directory. Go to
“C:\xampp\apache\conf\extra\” and open httpd-vhost.conf using a text editor.
5. Add the following line of codes at the bottom:

<VirtualHost *:80>
DocumentRoot "C:/xampp/htdocs/lr-portal-offline-app\public"
ServerName lrportal.local
</VirtualHost>

6. Save and restart apache server by Click Stop/Start on XAMPP Control Panel.
7. Minimized XAMPP Control Panel in preparation for the next step.

4. INSTALLATION OF OFFLINE LRMDS


This step will copy the Offline LRMDS to the test machine.

1. Verify that the acquired USB Flash drive was issued by DepED BAC Secretariat.
2. The flash drive will contain the following Files and Folder:
a. exe
b. lr-portal-offline-app
c. xampp-win32-7.2.12-0-VC15-installer.exe
d. Offline LRMDS Installation Guide - for DCP test.pdf
3. Copy the folder named lr-portal-offline-app to C:\xampp\htdocs
4. Copy the folder named exe to C:\xampp\htdocs
5. Once both folder was successfully copied, navigate inside “C:\xampp\htdocs\exe”
folder then run adminer-4.3.1-mysql.exe with administrator privileges.
6. An offline database will display. Minimize the window:

7. Open a web browser and type the PC’s IP address (192.168.0.1). The browser should
display the website below:

8. Test if learning materials can be downloaded.


9. On the Right part of the website, under Grade Level, click Grade 7
10. Click “Aralin Panlipunan” then “Kolonyalismo at imperyalismo sa timog at kanluran
asya”:

11. Click a resource material Download Button. The web browse should initiate a
download:

12. The Offline LRMDS compatibility test is complete. Please wait for the BAC
Secretariat for the further instructions.
