I. Strength
a. Good Venue Location
Since our badminton event is open to the Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur

students, we chose a good venue location that have a good facility and easy to find.

Location is an important concern because it can influence who attends the event. A

good venue should be easy to find and not arduous to reach. There should be easily

accessible information to help participants or audience find the venue. It is also will

help the students to get to venue in time as they know where it is and will not have

any confusion in the location of the venue.

b. Able to promote to the students IUKL (Infrastructure University Kuala

Lumpur)
In this modern era, promotional campaigns on the main social media sites will

expose our badminton event to a broad audience. We plan use the current

technology to promote our badminton event on social media such as Facebook and

Instagram to get a broad audience. Furthermore, we also use posters by placing it in

our campus area to promote our badminton event. it’s easy to dismiss posters as a

means of promoting events. After all, they can’t reach as wide an audience as

adverts on social media and other digital platforms but posters are still among the

most effective ways of advertising sports events.

c. Effective teamwork

In planning and producing the event, we had a good team bonding and

understandings where we all work good as a team in helping each other. As a team

we all have a good communication therefore, we didn’t have any sort of problems or

miscommunication among us. We had no issues with our attendance and punctuality.

As a team we always gather on time. As an event manager Anies Syafikah was good

at communicating and directing task to each group members.

d. Indoor sporting event

Despite the numerous advantages of outdoor sports facilities, such as space and

natural light, indoor complexes provide more efficient sports playing solutions

participants do not have to skip games due to inclement weather and can play

comfortably in a safe, climate-controlled environment. That is never an issue with our

indoor sporting event because we can still host games and activities even on the

unpredictable weather. An indoor sporting facility is a very comfortable place to play

sports because it offers a climate-controlled environment with excellent playing

conditions and a variety of useful not only for participants but also for the audience.

Weaknesses

a. Lack of knowledge
The majority of our team members majored in business and have no experience

organizing badminton event. Since this is the first time, we have organized a

sporting event at our university, our group may be unfamiliar with aspects of

badminton and important criteria of the event such as budget restrictions,

medical supervision, publicity and promotion, maintenance and program control.

b. Chances of lesser people to participate

Our badminton event will be held on weekdays it can cause a chance of lesser

people to participate is highest since the event time might be clashing with their

classes. Most people may not be able to join our badminton because after class

they are definitely busy with assignments. Our event time is also limited since we

have two hours and this is also one of the reasons they cannot participate in our

event.

d. A lack of group members

We have a good quality in teamwork in planning and producing our event, but we

lack of quantity in group members to help us manage the work efficiently. In

managing this event, a lack of group members can consequence in an excessive

workload and stress to ourself.

e. Specific to one gender in the event

Since our event is limited to one gender, there are limited chances for

participants to participate. We anticipate that male genders will participate our

event in order to maximize the number of participants that we estimate. Female

participants who were interested in participating were disappointed because they

were unable to do so and could only attend as audiences at our upcoming event.

II. Opportunities
a. Build a relationship among IUKL students (Infrastructure University Kuala
Lumpur)
Our badminton event can provide an opportunity for all IUKL students to bond and

get to know each other in person. Hence, it cannot be denied that those

social activities in campus can help the students a lot. For example, when the

university organizes a sport event, there will be many students could join the event,

as for that, the students can communicate and meet many people and they can

exchange ideas and opinion regarding any matters

b. Able to learn about planning and organizing event management

Many of us were able to learn how to manage an event while managing the

badminton event. This includes how to promote and create posters for the event, as

well as how to obtain the necessary event equipment, such as a chairs, tables,

shuttlecock, and net for the badminton court. This event was an experience for us.

From this event we had practice teamwork and had strengthen our personal abilities.

We felt satisfied after we finalised organising the event, even though we did not thrive

in every aspect of event management, but we were grateful with how the event was

approached. This provided us with some motivation to participate in the event again
the following year and to ensure that we get it right the first time by not repeating the

same mistakes that were made previously.

d. Might become a recurring event within the university

If our event receives a positive response, we may be able to hold it again within the

IUKL in the future. Instead, we will be able to fully support the holding of beneficial

and positive events among IUKL students. Not only that, we can still also improve the

existing weaknesses and hold future events more seamlessly.

e. Attract IUKL students because they gain something

Participants in our event not only had the potential to compete attractive prizes, but

they also gained valuable experience as students. If they were not very

knowledgeable about badminton prior to this event, they may have gained some of

knowledge that they can use when playing badminton at upcoming events.

III. Threats
a. Participant injuries
Participant injury issues are a very serious case because it involves their lives. As

this is a badminton event that requires both physical and mental strength, the injury

rate among the participants is high. To be prepared for any emergency, we must

ensure that we have adequate medical support. No youth sports team or competition

should be without a first aid kit designed to treat the most common injuries and

illnesses that might be encountered. The type of first aid that may be required varies

by sport such as tennis elbow, Achilles Tendonitis and sprained ankles are more

common in badminton, a baseball team's first aid kit, for instance, needs to be

stocked with cold packs, elastic bandages, and Band-Aids.

b. The impact of COVID-19 pandemic

Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, it may be difficult for us to manage this

event because we must all follow the procedures implemented by the MOH and IUKL
management. Before this event, our badminton committee members must ensure

that the chosen location is safe and requires for social distance. This is to avoid the

spread of the virus among IUKL students.

c. Unable to finish the event in the given time period (2 hours)

Our event will take place within the two hours allotted in our schedule, but we cannot

assure that it will end on time. This is due to the fact that two hours is a very short

period of time for a sporting event and cannot be estimated when the event takes

place later. There are possibilities that our event cannot be completed within the time

frame specified.

d. High cost of entry fees

The price of the tickets and entry fees are quite reasonable but there might be others

who disagree. Since the students might feel that it is too expensive many might not

be interested to join our event.
