2. PURPOSE:
To achieve an acceptable quality of work in accordance with the prevailing standards
as specified in the approved shop drawings and technical specifications in ensuring
the continuity of a power supply to a selective electrical equipment in an
unanticipated power failure.

7.1 Installation:
Emergency generator set shall be installed, including connections, where and as
indicated on drawings and as specified the project technical specification and in
accordance with approved shop drawings and manufacturer’s printed instructions.
7.2 Test:
The completed installation shall be tested for compliance with the specification
following completion of all site work. Testing shall be conducted by the
representatives of the manufacturer. The Engineer shall be notified in advance and
certified copies of test procedures and results shall be forwarded to the Engineer.
Tests shall include:
1. Simulated Power Failure Test: Engine-generator shall be made ready for automatic
operation and started by means of the test transfer switch. Unit shall run for the
duration of all time delays and then automatically shut down.
2. Load Test: Standby generator shall be operated at the following loads without
interruption:
a. Four hours operation at three quarters of rated load.
b. One hour operation at three quarters of rated load. Records shall be maintained
throughout this period on water temperature, oil pressure, ambient air
temperature, barometric pressure, voltage, current, frequency, kilowatts and
power factors.
c. Control Demonstration: The following control shall be demonstrated:
Preliminary alarm and safety shutdown verification.

8. QUALITY:
DESCRIPTION OF WORK IN-CHARGE
The QA/QC Manager will monitor and ensure that this Method
Statement shall be strictly enforced so that smooth Work Flow will QA/QC Manager
be attained.
Furthermore, the QA/QC Team shall ensure that each individual
elements of the work shall be completed substantially in
compliance with the approved plans and project specifications to
meet client's expectation or even exceed. QCE, EE
