    How to Write a Descriptive Essay(SAMPLE)

     When writing a Descriptive Essay, make sure to apply


    the 5 Paragraph Essay Structure you have learnt.
     Make sure that your Descriptive Essay has double the
    adjectives than the number of sentences in your Essay.

    Introduction: The Taj Mahal is a white tomb built in the 16th century by the
    Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The
    building is in the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh.Thesis Statement: The Taj

    Mahal is famous for its exterior Mughal architecture, for its tourist

    attractions and for its interior decorations.

    1st Body Paragraph: The Taj Mahal is famous for its exterior Mughal
    architecture. The mausoleum is the chief building of the Taj mahal. It is built
    of pure white marble with a beautiful spacious square garden as an outside
    view. Moreover, an attractive glistening pool is in front of the mausoleum.
    Four minarets on the white gleaming dome is a glorious architectural work.

    2nd Body Paragraph: The Taj Mahal is famous for its tourist attractions.
    12,000 thousand visitors visit this monument every day. The Royal great
    gate of the Taj Mahal first attracts the tourists. The gate has a large
    structure. Here people gather to see the masterpiece of the fine inlay work
    of this Royal gate. People cherish the story of the eternal love of Shah
    Jahan at the sight of the white marble mausoleum.

    3rd Body Paragraph: The Taj Mahal is famous for its interior decorations.
    The interior walls have flowers carved in marble. Many gorgeous chambers
    are decorated with intricate art work. The floor has finial floor tiling. Incised
    paintings on the roof is another attraction of the interior design.

    Conclusion: Repeat Thesis: So the Taj Mahal is famous for its exterior

    Mughal architecture, for its tourist attractions and for its interior
    decorations. Advice: Everybody should visit this wonderful piece of art at
    least once. The Taj Mahal must be restored properly by the Government
    .Opinion: We can learn a lot about the Taj Mahal. Visitors have all praised
    this mysterious Taj Mahal ever since.

    Explanations Of the Descriptive Essay& Points to Remember

     All the words in green colors are adjectives.


     The more adjectives you use the better and interesting will be your
    Descriptive Essay.
     If you use a few adjectives, it will become a General Essay and not a
    Descriptive essay.
     Apply the 5 Paragraph Essay structure that you have learnt to the
    Descriptive Essay.
     The 1st paragraph and the 3rd body paragraphs have Physical
    Features.
     The 2nd body paragraph has a combination of Activities and Physical
    Features.
     You can combine both Physical Features and Activities in any body
    paragraph you wish.
     Even you can write Activities first and then Physical Features or vice
    versa separately in any paragraph.
