A. Procedure
1.1. Identification of Significant OH&S Risk and Environment Impacts

1.1. Department Managers shall identify list of all company activities, products, or services
that have or can have significant OH&S Risks and environmental aspects as per
“Hazard identification and risk assessment” and “Environment Impact Assessment”
procedure.
1.2. Each significant OH&S hazards / environmental aspect identified shall be reviewed in
conjunction with its activities, products, or services and their associated OH&S risk /
environmental impact to determine the required operational controls (either technological
or administrative).
1.3. Identified operational control shall be applied to activities, products, and services to
prevent or mitigate the OH&S hazards and environmental aspect from occurring.
Examples of Operation control include those built into technology (e.g., Access control,
sleep mode for printers / DSE, etc.), those requiring operator intervention (e.g., dead
man switches, trips by-pass, electronic documents, etc.), and those that are incorporated
procedures (e.g., Standard Operation Procedures, Method statement, HSE Operation
Procedures).
1.4. Method statements / Standard Operation Procedures / Operation Control procedures, as
applicable, shall specify the operating criteria (including maintenance) and the actions to
be taken when they are interrupted, or when they might otherwise fail. It is the
responsibility of the Department managers or designee to ensure required operational
controls are identified and implemented for all activities, products, services and activities
associated with each of the department's significant environmental aspects and OH&S
Risks.
2.1. HSE Operation Control Procedures

2.1. HSE Operation control procedures contain appropriate controls to ensure continued,
safe, and compliant operation of this facility’s activities, products and services. Relevant
operational control requirements are communicated to employees, suppliers and
contractors, as appropriate, for the purpose of controlling potential significant
environmental aspects / impacts and OH&S risk at work place
2.2. Department manager shall ensure employees whose work is covered by the operational
controls shall be trained / informed on these procedures in accordance with the
“Competence, Training and Awareness procedure” and strictly enforced.
2.3. Operational Control Procedures shall be reviewed, as and when required, to assure that
they reflect current objectives, targets, expectations, regulatory requirements, or
practice. These procedures may be reviewed and revised more frequently as a result of
non-conformity, corrective and/or preventive actions, audits, change in process, or as a
result of the implementation of an OH&S and environment management system
program.
2.4. When necessary, department manager shall ensure operation controls shall also be
applied to the identified significant environmental aspects and OH&S Risk of activities,
products and services that are received from external sources and used by or on behalf
of SAFIRE FOR FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS activities.
2.5. Operation control requirements that need to be implemented by an external party shall
be communicated to those sources, as appropriate.
3.1. Standards, Procedures, Standard Operation Procedures

3.1. Identified significant activities and the supporting tasks shall have operation control
procedures / written procedures / method statements / Standard Operation Procedures /
customer procedures in place, as appropriate. Required environment aspect / impact
studies, Hazard identification and risk assessment studies or customer specific risk
assessment studies shall be prepared and submitted to customers for necessary review,
as applicable.
3.2. Department manager or his designee shall ensure method statements are developed
and implemented for installation, testing and commissioning of systems, so that activities
are carried out under controlled condition for mitigating environmental aspects /
eliminating risks of loss / injury to property / person.
3.3. Department manager shall ensure that relevant procedures / Standard Operation
Procedures / method statements, standards and customer HSE requirements for the
project etc. are communicated to employees, suppliers and subcontractors, whenever
required and implemented. Department manager or his designee shall ensure the
relevant project specific HSE Plan is prepared in line with the customer HSE
requirement and applicable legal requirements.
