Statement of Purpose
In this age of economic globalization, I believe that today's education has

drastically changed. Today it has been proved that education is man-making
and character building. Those who know what they want can walk with
immense confidence as they know for the fact that there are Global Education
Institutions of knowledge which are devoted to the task of churning out
leaders of tomorrow. For that, I wish to go for higher studies in abroad. After
scrutinizing my interests, past training and final ambition, I have decided to
pursue the Post Baccalaureate Diploma in International Business. I have
described my academic background & career goals in this essay.
Background (Academic, Professional & Extra-Curriculum)
I would like to introduce myself as Mayank Parab a young B.Com. Graduate

from Mumbai. After completing my schooling in 2012, at the career stage, I
had a clear mindset for choosing Commerce to pursue my dream in Corporate
World. I’ve passed my SSC (10th) & HSC (12th) from Maharashtra State Board
with 88.55% & 72.15% respectively and Bachelors of Commerce (B.Com.) from
University of Mumbai. This world requires more analytical & logical thinking
and being spontaneous. Since my school days, I've achieved more than 85%
in subjects like Maths & Economics making me clear to the world of Business.
In earlier semesters I struggled a lot like my approach towards studies was
incorrect, having the motivation & enthusiasm, I transformed my approach to
face that struggle. I realized my knowledge & skills need an improvisation for
achieving my career goals. Hence, I opted for Post-Graduation.
After graduation, because of my good network I secured the job of an

Accountant & Inventory Analyst at Kamal Clinic from May 2017 to November
2017 which increased my practical knowledge with regards to inventory
management methods like FIFO, LIFO, etc. After that my decision was to do
some research for better opportunities for studying abroad in different
countries. Side by side, I was preparing for IELTS. I appeared for IELTS in August
2018 and scored overall 7.5 bands. Then, from the very next day I started
working as a Load Planner & Dispatcher at OSG Containers Pvt. Ltd. a US-based
logistics & trucking company in India. Here I got an idea of how supply chain
management & logistic brokering works.
Talking about extra-curriculum & hobbies, I am a guitarist and often upload my
guitar videos on Social Media sites like Instagram. Cricket, Chess & Soccer are
the sports of my interest. I am also an online gamer & hence a part of the E-
sports community which is on the growth right now.
Why Post-Baccalaureate from Thompson Rivers University,

Canada with its vast history, impeccable reputation, multi-cultural

environment and the level of education in institutions was an automatic and
an immediate choice. The Canadian Education system is known to improvise
the intelligence and creativity of a student. After carefully assessing the
options, I decided to go for the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in International
Business at Thompson Rivers University. Main reasons for choosing this
University were the Employment Rate after course completion, Employer
satisfaction rate, World recognition & prime choice of International students.
It was a big decision for me because my whole career depends on the same
and it also took a longer time to reach the best conclusion. After doing a deep
research, I am convinced that TRU is well known for the program am opting
for.
The purpose of selecting International Business Management is to ensure deep

research in different industries and understand the data collected and utilize
them for more creative ways to generate new strategic plans and innovation
and launch new products successfully. It provides access to different data, the
associated resources, analysis of competitors and other areas of business in
depth. Business management will open doors of opportunities for me to grow
as an individual and to serve my country. I will be able to learn how to
research potential international opportunities with consideration of culture,
finance, legal and distribution issues. TRU offers modules like Principles of
Macro & Microeconomics, Financial Management & Accounting, MIS, Supply
Chain Management, International Marketing, Cross-Cultural Management and
Marketing Research. I will get to study these many modules in one program so
that I can grab the knowledge from each.
This field has vast opportunities for growth and it will add an advantage to my
existing qualification with international qualification and exposure.
Industries, wherein I would be able to get the work opportunity would be
Banks, Logistics & Supply Chain, Insurance Companies, etc. and my work profile
may include:
 Commercial Bank Officers
 Foreign Investment & Risk Analysts
 Supply Chain Officer
 Logistics Broker
 Business Development Representative
To conclude, I would like to state that as If I am granted the visa for Canada I
will perform to the best of my abilities and hope to acquire skills that will help
me re-attain my dreams. Finally, I take this opportunity to thank you for
offering me a chance to share my views and in point of fact to remind all the
great values which I would learn in my future.
