PERFORMANCE TASK IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION 8

Competencies:

*Undertakes physical activity and physical fitness assessments


*Conducts physical activity and physical fitness assessments of family/school peers
*Displays tolerance and acceptance of individuals with varying skills and abilities

BIBLICAL INTEGRATION: In the image of God, He created our bodies (Gen.1.27). He knows the inward and
outward parts of our bodies (Ps. 139.13-16). When sin entered the world, it brought death (Rom.5.12) and
decay to our bodies (1 Cor. 15.42,51-53). Thanks be to God that though our bodies were dead because of sin
yet through the righteousness of Christ we are alive (Rom.8.10-11). In responds to God’s kindness to us, we
are to take care of this body for it is no longer our body but God’s temple (1Cor.6:19-20). When Jesus comes
again, he will transform our bodies in conformity with body of his glory (Philippians 3.21) and will no longer
die (1Cor.15.42,51-53).

I. Performance task

• The Grade 8 students are task to make a physical activity program and do it to encourage an active lifestyle.
It is their job to create first a program to be physically active and then execute the program. Their program
contains physical activities from Basketball or Volleyball. Your activity should include your family
members and should properly be executed. It should also be easy and challenging to execute. Then they
will show the difference between a student being hooked up by gadgets resulting in a physically inactive
lifestyle to a student who has a physically active lifestyle. A rubric will be given for the student’s criteria for
success.

II. Instructions:
1. You will create an activity program. See the below the format of an activity program. Fill in the blanks to complete the
Physical activity program.
2. Search in the net for more example of stretching, warm up, or cool down activity. If you don’t know how to perform
the skills in Frisbee and dodgeball, you may search in the net on how to do them. If you lack materials, you may
improvise. Performing the skills is more important in this activity. Discuss the harmful effects of Physical inactivity and
the importance of doing team sports / exercise during this time of Pandemic in the video (at least 30 seconds)
3. Then you will follow the activity program that you made. Make sure to take a VIDEO and record your activity.
4. After recording and editing the video, you will submit the Physical Activity program and the exercise presentation via
video format Assignment TAB. TITLE: Performance task Grade 9. The File name of the Physical Activity program and
video will be in this format: Surname, first name. Activity program. Grade level.

Example: Guzman, Jason. Basketball, Grade 8.

5. The video will only last for 10- 15 minutes. Make sure that the video is clear. For ideas on how to do this task or how
to make it, you may search in the internet.

6. If you have questions regarding the task, feel free to ask your teacher.
