Philippine Politics and Governance
Background Information:
A political ideology is a set of ideas and principles that explain how the society
should work and offer the blueprint for a certain social order. It largely concerns itself
with how to allocate power and to what ends, it should be used.
A political ideology is a set of related beliefs about political theory
and policy held by an individual, group of individuals or a particular social class.
Political ideas always come from ideology, but are simply more concrete. A political
idea which is being carried out by a government or other organization is a policy.
Ideologies are the sets of basic beliefs about the political, economic, social
and cultural affairs held by the majority of people within as society.
The most implemented political ideology in the world today is probably social
democracy, employed in countries such as England and France (on the more
conservative end), as well as Norway and Sweden (on the more leftist end).
Some political parties follow a certain ideology very closely while others may
take broad inspiration from a group of related ideologies without specifically
embracing any one of them. The popularity of an ideology is in part due
to the influence of moral entrepreneurs, who sometimes act in their own interests.
What are the different types of political ideology?
