These Rules enter into force on August 1st, 2006.

These Rules apply to inland navigation vessels for which contracts for construction are signed
on or after August 1st, 2006.

For existing inland vessels or inland vessels under construction, for which contracts for construc-
tion are signed before August 1st, 2006, the respective latest edition of Part 0 - Classification and
Surveys will be applicable unless the Character of Classification and the Notations of such vessels
have been updated according to Part A of the Rules for Inland Navigation Vessels.

The English version of these Rules takes precedence over editions in other languages.

“General Terms and Conditions” of the respective latest edition will be applicable
(see Rules for the Classification and Construction, I — Ship Technology, Part 0 — Classficiation and Surveys).
