Associates are no longer required to raise a GPS for Intune along with E1. GPS is required
only for a move from F1 to E3/E1 +Intune OR E1+intune to E3
1. How do I decide between M365 E3, O365 E1+intune and M365 F1 for my
project associates ?
o If the associates’ work requires him to use Word/Excel/PPT extensively and if the
associate has a TCS Asset, we recommend E3
o If the associate ’s work doesn’t require an extensive use of Word/Excel/PPT and if
the associate has TCS Asset - we recommend E1+ Intune
o If the associate does NOT have a TCS Asset, and needs to use Teams, we recommend
M365 F1.
Microsoft 365 F1 is a basic, light weight Office365 License that is primarily aimed at
enabling MS teams for all TCSers. It includes most of MS Teams and comes with an
associated on-prem Outlook based mailbox.
o Users with F1 can access Office365 from Mobile only ; Users should not access via
Desktop apps or Web browser ( currently the system based access restrictions for
desktop app or web browser is not done yet, but it will be limited soon)
o Users with F1 can’t schedule a Teams Meeting or Live Event, but can join meetings
that are scheduled by E1/E3 users
o Users with F1 can’t create a new document or edit an existing document on Mobile.
They can view documents that are shared via MS Teams
o Email Access via the Outlook mobile app is currently NOT available, this is expected
to be enabled soon
o Teams Calendar & Outlook Calendars entries will not be in sync ; users will have to
directly use the Teams calendar for checking upcoming meetings
The license is recommended for users who just need MS Teams on their mobile devices. It
is recommended for users who don’t have a TCS Asset and need easy access to MS Teams.
The M365 F1 license comes with the 200 MB on-prem mail box; it does not provide the
100GB cloud mail box.
Users can access emails via myapp.tcs.com on the mobile browser or web browser. Email
Access via the Outlook mobile app is currently NOT available, this is expected to be
supported soon.
o F1 users upon GPS approval by Project AND with a valid TCS Asset, can move to
O365 E1+Intune Or M365 E3
o E1+intune users, upon an approved GPS, can be upgraded to E3
The mail box will also be migrated from Outlook on-prem to Cloud Mail box, when license
changes from F1 to E1+Intune or E3.
NOTE:
Currently F1 license will be assigned to users with NON-TCS Asset(Irrespective of the grades
& privileged license).
SE(C1), ASE & ASE-T Grade users are privileged to F1 license, even if they have TCS Asset.(If
these users want E1+Intune or E3 then GPS is required).
F1 users will get Exchange On_Premise mailbox not O365 Outlook Online mailbox.
F1 users can access mailbox from Myapp(citrix) on Mobile as well as on Desktop.
F1 users can access Teams and other O365 apps on mobile. But not Outlook yet, accessing
mailbox via Outlook is under development.
