Which important monument do you think is most in danger of being damaged further by nature? What can be done to
prevent further damage?
Imagine that you belong to a committee of scientists that is in charge of estimating the lifespan of two monuments that
are very important to human civilization: The Sphinx in Giza, Egypt, and the Statue of Liberty in New York City. This
committee is trying to propose a plan to help preserve the monument which is in most immediate danger. Your job is to
carry out an investigation in order to make a claim about which monument is most in need of our help.
