    SIGNIFICANCE :

    PROCEDURE PLATE MAKING:

    Material Procedure:-
    The unexposed plate is cut into the size of the negative. Then the negative is place on the exposing unit over that

    sheet photopolymer plate its polyester cover sheet is removed before placing the sheet. ______________________

    Back Exposure:- _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

    The back exposure is completed first. The sheet material is placed base side up on the exposure unit and exposed to

    UV Light. Some automated systems are equipped with the dual light sources. In this case, the sheet is placed base ___

    side down over the bottom set of lamps. The back exposure is responsible for the relief depth and floor thickness at

    Main Exposure:-

    The plate material is turned over and the cover sheet is removed. Clean negatives are placed emulsion down on

    the vacuum sheet is soothed over the material. In system with dual light source sheets not flip. The UV light are____

    then turned on for a specific amount of time.The area which came in contact with the light get hard or cure and__

    unexposed once remains soft.___________________________________________________________________

    Face-Test Exposures:-_________________________________________________________________________

    Face –Test exposures should be conducted to determine the exposures necessary to reproduce the copied detail.__

    Plate Processing:-_____________________________________________________________________________

    After exposure, the plate is ready to be processed in the washout unit. This unit removes uncured photopolymer _

    material, leaving the cured image in relief._________________________________________________________

    Preliminary Inspection:-_______________________________________________________________________

    After a brief time in the dryer, the plates should be inspected and ripped to removed the tin film of residue that __

    may remain on the print surface of the plate._______________________________________________________

    Plate Drying:-________________________________________________________________________________

    When solid sheet plates are removed from the wash out unit they are soft swollen and tacky.Processing solvent is

    absorbed into the plate during washout, causing the plate to swell, so to reduce the swelling and making images _

    sharp and clean the plate is oven dried. A fully dried plate will return to the original gauge of the material.______

    Light Finishing and Post-Exposure:-______________________________________________________________

    After plate drying the plate is again exposed under UVC light to ensure the proper caring of the plate. _________

    OBSERVATION OVER PLATE MAKING:
    1. If the sheet is under exposed the polymer do not get hard as enough and may get removed in washing process.

    2. In Preliminary Inspection if the remain of film is not removed it will result in the appearance at orange peel or

    dry down spots.___________________________________________________________________________

    3. Over post exposure may cause cracking in the plate.______________________________________________

    CONCLUSION :
    In this practical we came to know about the steps to prepare the sheet-polymer plate and we analyze the variable

    in this process.________________________________________________________________________________
