    How does this work follow the impressionist style?

    Answer:
    This artwork “Claude Monet Painting in his boat studio” follows the
    impressionist style because, Monet put emphasis on how the artwork colour and light
    plays important role leading to the way how nature appears to the eye. This artwork
    makes you realize what Monet saw as he painted this picture.

    What painting technique did the artist use?

    Answer:
    Monet used the latest available technique which is known as oil. The artist did
    not have much colours to choose from, so the artist would mix oils to get the different
    shades and colours they wanted to use.

    What social issues does this painting address?

    Answer:
    The social issues that are addressed through this painting were that he was in short of the
    polished surfaces and the painting was drawn in his personal style.

    What formal quality did this artist explore?

    Answer:
    The angle of vision and two dimensional art form of painting were the formal
    qualities expressed by the artist.

    How did his medium contribute to the appearance of his work?


    Answer:
    Dry sticks of powered pigments was the medium contributed to the appearance of his
    work. Just like using of chalks, they were driven directly on the paper. This became the
    reason of the linear basis of his work.

    What Modernist interest does he investigate?

    Answer: 
    He investigated the human form as opposite to landscape habitat, like the woman being
    naked in her own privacy.
    What fundamental differences exist between Gauguin and the
    Impressionists?
    Answer:
    The fundamental differences that exist between Gauguin and the impressionists are
    1. A refusal of anticipation and greed as a mode of understanding society.
    2. A rejection of impressionism as an art form which compels someone to look into the
    objective world in a subjective way.
    3. A nullification of conventional impressionism.

    Why did Gauguin move to Pont-Aven?

    Answer:
    Being discontented and exhausted, he created ceramic vessels to sell, then he made his
    way to Pont-Aven that summer in search of more easier and careful life.

    How does he reject both Realism and Impressionism in this painting?

    Answer:
    By not consolidating this painting with a boundary perspective, light and shade, with
    naturalistic use of colour. Instead of this, Gauguin merged the scene into a pattern. In this
    way, he rejects realism and the impressionism in this painting.
