    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Greetings!

    The Ateneo Mathematics Society (AMS) cordially invites you to Sipnayan 2021: Into the
    Realms! Sipnayan is an annual mathematics contest that provides avenues for students
    from different schools to showcase their knowledge and competence in mathematics.
    Last year, Sipnayan transitioned to an online setting by providing seminars on various
    math topics for Grade School, Junior High School, and Senior High School Divisions, as
    well as providing Problem Sets for each topic. Now, on its 23rd year, Sipnayan will have
    its first ever online mathematics competition!

    With this, Sipnayan 2021: Into the Realms will be conducted through various online
    platforms such as Canvas, Zoom, Facebook, and Discord. Additionally, the event will be
    streamed using the official AMS Sipnayan Facebook Page which is found at
    facebook.com/AMSSipnayan. The competition will be divided into three divisions: (1)
    the Grade School Division, (2) the Junior High School Division, and (3) the Senior High
    School division. Moreover, the competition in each division will comprise of three
    stages: (i) a written elimination round, (ii) an oral semi-final round, and (iii) an oral final
    round. Further, the competition will be team-based where all the stages listed above will
    be accomplished by groups of three members. Lastly, the event will have a registration
    fee of ₱300 per group.

    The different divisions of Sipnayan 2021 will be held on the following dates:

    Grade School Division (Grades 6 and below): October 9, 2021


    Junior High School Division (Grades 7 to 10): October 16, 2021
    Senior High School Division (Grades 11 to 12): October 23, 2021

    For the interested schools, the registration procedure and payment processes may be

    program and mechanics of the competition are also provided below:

    4:05 PM - 4:30 PM Awarding Ceremony
    *All participants must enter the zoom meeting at exactly 8:00 AM. The exam will
    immediately start at 8:30 AM and no exceptions will be made to those who are late.

    General Rules: Eliminations


    1. This will be in the form of a written examination to be taken for two (2) hours.
    2. All contestants must take the Elimination Round. Then, the score of the members
    of each team will be summed up.
    3. The top 24 teams will proceed to the semi-final rounds.
    4. Calculators are strictly prohibited.

    General Rules: Semifinals & Finals


    1. Both rounds will be in the form of an oral exam. Semi-final rounds shall follow
    the typical quiz bee format, while the exact format and mechanics of the final
    round shall be announced prior to the start of the round.
    2. Only the top 6 teams from the semi-final round will proceed to the final round.

    On behalf of the Ateneo Mathematics Society (AMS), we are
    cordially inviting you to this year’s Sipnayan 2021: Into the Realms.
    For the past 22 years, the Ateneo Mathematics Society (AMS) has
    held Sipnayan, an annual mathematics competition. It is an
    avenue for students from different schools to showcase their
    knowledge and competence in mathematics with the aim of
    promoting appreciation and excellence in the subject. Last year,
    Sipnayan transitioned to an online setting by providing seminars
    on various math topics for Grade School, Junior High School, and
    Senior High School Divisions, as well as providing problem sets for
    each topic. Now, on its 23rd year, Sipnayan will have its first ever
    online competition by reintegrating the competition aspect.

    The following pages will provide the relevant details and

    General Rules: Eliminations
    1. This will be in the form of a written

    Important Notes: A school can send at most 3 teams


    consisting of 3 members each at most. All
    participating students must submit a photo of their
    student ID or any other official document to confirm
    their eligibility.

    Junior High School


    Trigonometry, Combinatorics, Logic, Geometry, Algebra,
